EN→FRWithout a doubt, the Alienware x17 R2 is one of the best gaming laptops out there. It has kick-ass gaming performance in a package that is slightly smaller than its ancestor. But it is still, not to put too fine a point on it, a big-ass laptop. It also has a rather robust price tag, starting at $2279 for the base model up to the nearly $4k of the model we tested. Is it worth it? That depends. Yes, you can pick up a decent gaming laptop with pretty good performance that will manage decent frame rates for less than half of the price of this review unit (see below for some suggestions). However, if you are the sort of person who feels every hit of the game and likes to dance between the bullets, then the x17 R2 is for you. The 360Hz display and computing power to back it up is a powerful combination. As long as you can afford it and put up with the noise, that is.

EN→FRThe Alienware x17 R2 is not a reinvention of the original, but a significant component upgrade that pushes the top tier of performance ever higher. Its 12th Generation Intel processor and GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU are clear improvements over the already formidable parts of the first x17 and join its otherwise advanced build and features. If money is truly no object, this machine will impress with both style and performance. Its slim build and standout look are admirable, while extras like its mechanical keyboard are satisfying. But that said, other 17-inch gamers offer equal or better portability and performance. Shoppers who love the design will gladly pay the Alienware's price premium, but it's not a uniquely portable system, and some of its advanced features go mostly toward maintaining (but not setting records in) performance in a slim chassis. Without a clear edge in any area, the x17 R2 trails the slightly thicker Origin and Asus laptops.

The 2022 refresh of the Alienware x17 R2 packs Intel 12th gen Alder Lake Core i7 and i9 processors, NVIDIA RTX Ti GPUs and across the board G-Sync and Advanced Optimus. The is a fairly 17.3” slim desktop replacement gaming laptop with high wattage GPUs up to 175 watts, H series 14-core CPUs and your choice of an RTX 3060, 3070 Ti or 3080 Ti 16GB. It’s Lunar Light with Alienware’s Legend 2.0 design and a metal casing. A low profile Cherry MX keyboard is optional, per key RGB lighting is standard and you can get it with fast refresh full HD or a 120Hz 4K display.

EN→FRRegardless, the premium build quality of this machine is significantly nicer than the competitive MSI product. And if Alienware's Legend 2.0 design language catches your eye like it does ours, you have to agree it's one of the best looking gaming laptops on the market right now. We'd like a USB-C port or two on either side edge, but otherwise this is a well-behaved, slim and sleek beauty with serious gaming horsepower on board. Software and firmware updates can be tweaked and optimized, but hardware is locked down for the most part. While it's ever-so slightly softer gaming performance versus MSI held us back from an Editor's Choice award, we still highly recommend the new Alienware x17 R2 for anyone looking for a super-premium 17-inch gaming laptop. At $4799.99 as tested, its a steep price to pay, but in this day and age especially, the Alienware x17 R2 delivers the kind of performance and no-compromise laptop gaming experience you'd expect, and it looks pretty darn slick doing it.

EN→FRThe Alienware x17 R2 is a force to be reckoned with. Thanks to the significant power of the new Intel 12th Gen processor and Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti GPU, it’s putting most challengers to shame. It’s got some of the fastest, if not the fastest transfer speeds I’ve seen on a laptop period and it’s got that funky, out-of-this-world look that the legion of fans love. However, for $4,799, I was expecting it to win a few more rounds of our benchmarking against similarly specced systems. Plus, I really need Alienware to step its game up on the webcam front. If unquestionable power is the name of the game, check out the MSI GE76 Raider as it has nearly identical specs and longer battery life. But if vibrant views, ultra comfortable keyboards and great audio is your bag, the Alienware x17 R2 is the gaming laptop for you.

Carte graphique haut de gamme pour ordinateur portable basée sur la puce Ampere GA103S. Au moment de son lancement, début 2022, la 3080 Ti est la carte graphique pour ordinateur portable la plus rapide du marché.
Ces cartes graphiques devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux récents (avec quelques exceptions) en haute résolution avec un bon niveau de détail.

Un processeur mobile basé sur Alder-Lake avec 6 cœurs de performance et 8 cœurs efficaces. Les cœurs de performance offrent un hyper threading, ce qui permet de traiter 20 threads. Le processeur tourne à des fréquences allant de 1,8 à 5 GHz.

Alienware:
Alienware a été fondée aux États-Unis en 1996. Le siège européen est situé en Irlande. Alienware fait partie du groupe Dell depuis 2006. La gamme de produits se concentre principalement sur les ordinateurs portables et les ordinateurs de bureau de jeu, qui sont développés et fabriqués par Dell.
