NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU
La Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU ou 3080 Ti Mobile (pour les ordinateurs portables, GN20-E8) est la carte graphique la plus rapide pour les ordinateurs portables au début de 2022. Elle est basée sur la puce GA103S Ampere et offre 7 424 shaders et 16 Go de mémoire graphique GDDR6 avec un bus mémoire de 256 bits. Il prend en charge PCIe 4.0 et sera disponible en différentes variantes (TGP de 80 à 175 watts actuellement connu). L'horloge Boost maximale peut varier de 1125 (80 W) à 1590 MHz (150 W et plus).
Il n'y a plus de variante Max-Q (anciennement utilisée pour les variantes à faible puissance) mais chaque OEM peut choisir d'implémenter les technologies Max-Q (Dynamic Boost, Whispermode).
Les performances dépendent du réglage TGP et du refroidissement de l'ordinateur portable. Grâce à un nombre de cœurs plus élevé, la RTX 3080 Ti devrait être nettement plus rapide que l'ancienne RTX 3080 Mobile et donc bien adaptée aux jeux 4K.
La puce GA103S offre 7 424 UAL FP32, dont la moitié peut également exécuter des instructions INT32 (soit 3 712 UAL INT32). Avec Turing, tous les shaders peuvent encore exécuter des instructions FP32 ou INT32. Le GA103S intègre 58 cœurs de Raytracing et 232 cœurs de Tensor (par exemple, pour DLSS). Le cache L2 est de 4 Mo. Les puces Ampere intègrent également un encodeur vidéo amélioré de 5e génération (NVENC pour H.264 et H.265) et un décodeur de 7e génération (pour divers formats, dont désormais AV1). Par rapport au GA103, le GA103S n'intègre qu'un bus mémoire de 256 bits.
La puce GA103S est fabriquée par Samsung en 8 nm (8N), ce qui n'est pas tout à fait à la hauteur du nœud de 7 nm de TSMC (utilisé par exemple par AMD et aussi pour la puce professionnelle GA100 Ampère).
