Le ROG Strix G16 est le troisième Strix que nous avons examiné en 2023. D'après notre expérience récente, le choix de passer à un modèle de 16 pouces est judicieux. Nous constatons que la 4080 s'insère parfaitement entre la RTX 4090 et la RTX 4070. Dans le ROG Strix G16, la carte graphique GeForce peut enfin montrer ses capacités.

La dalle se limite au 1200p par exemple, mais couplé à la RTX 4050, c'est tout naturel. L'autonomie n'est pas folle, comme c'est le cas de tous les PC gamers de notre époque. Nous nous tournons donc vers les points importants : les performances sont tout de même là, et la gestion thermique est très bonne. Dès lors, tout tient en une seule phrase : le ROG Strix G16 de 2023 est un très bon rapport qualité/prix pour qui cherche une configuration pouvant faire tourner de nombreux jeux, sans avoir à briser sa tirelire. C'est l'ADN des Strix G16 depuis leur arrivée sur le marché, et le modèle de 2023 en est un bon représentant.

ASUS ROG Strix G16 : En avant le DLSS 3 !

Il est temps de conclure le test de ce laptop qui nous a fortement convaincus, même s'il utilise une dalle en FHD+. Le travail sur cet appareil est agréable, malgré une période d'adaptation nécessaire pour se familiariser avec le clavier chiclet et pour ne plus utiliser le multifenêtre. Ce sont les deux seuls points négatifs de ce laptop. En revanche, nous bénéficions d'une expérience de jeu fluide grâce à l'écran 165 Hz et à la technologie NVIDIA G-Sync. De plus, le DLSS 3 apporte un gain significatif en termes de performances. Nous apprécions également la gestion de la batterie excellente, la qualité de l'affichage bien calibré et le fait que malgré la chauffe, le laptop reste discret. Tout cela est proposé à un prix qui n'atteint pas les sommets auxquels nous aurions pu nous attendre de la part de la concurrence. Bien entendu, cela s'adresse à ceux qui peuvent se permettre d'investir 2300 € dans un laptop.

Il fait à peu près tout ce que l'on attend de lui, le fait bien et le fait à un prix raisonnable dans le cas de notre exemplaire de test. L'appareil parvient à offrir des finitions sérieuses, un niveau d'équipement satisfaisant, une bonne qualité d'affichage globale et des performances suffisantes pour jouer en Full HD+ aux derniers AAA. Ajoutez à cela une chauffe contenue et une autonomie tout à fait respectable pour ce type de machine, et vous aboutissez à un produit que nous pouvons vous recommander sans sourciller.

D'abord par son design de qualité, qui se confond avec celui des modèles coûtant parfois le double, voire plus, mais aussi sa très bonne autonomie et les performances de son processeur. Malheureusement, ce modèle est équipé d'une carte graphique RTX 4050 à la traîne par rapport aux autres GeForce, même celles de la génération précédente.

ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2025) Gaming Laptop Review

I’ve been using the ROG Strix G16 for the past few weeks as essentially a desktop replacement and I’ve really enjoyed the experience. I’ve been around gaming laptops for a very long time and having one that isn’t necessarily massive or too heavy to carry with you that still provides desktop-like performance to me is impressive. The ROG Strix G16 actually did fit into my current laptop backpack and the little over 5lbs again isn’t too heavy in my opinion. So if you are thinking about taking this to and from work or travelling a lot with it, it is not going to be that bad. Another thing that is nice is that you don’t have to take the massive power brick with you everywhere, one of the Type-C ports does support 100W charging.

ASUS ROG Strix G16 Review: Balanced Performance Meets Gaming Value

Frankly speaking, we sometimes feel a little silly reviewing systems like the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 or the HP Omen Max 16. These are fantastic laptops, but they're luxuries reserved for those who have the spare cash to enjoy them. The new ASUS ROG Strix G16 isn't cheap, but its $2,499 price point feels like something achievable for mere mortals. What do you lose in the step down from those larger flagships? Mostly, half the GPU's streaming multiprocessors. The jump down from the GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop to the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU is a big one, to be sure. Yet, in real games, the performance loss was often less than the numbers would suggest, and with the potent AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D driving the smaller GPU, you end up with a very smooth and consistent gaming experience. Suffice to say that we're very fond of the ROG Strix G16.

I have to give ASUS its just dues, the ROG Strix G16 is a much better gaming laptop than I would've predicted had you asked me before I began testing it. I absolutely love the Zephyrus line and ASUS' consumer laptops, but the Strix products have never particularly amazed me. The ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2025, AMD) isn't revolutionary by any means, but it is a really good, well-rounded gaming laptop with an excellent keyboard and fantastic, reliable performance. It's also priced well, and it's sure to go on sale in the coming months, too. It was nice to test a gaming laptop powered by AMD's latest instead of Intel, too. I just wish this version had benefited from the same design update as the Intel-powered Strix G16, and that we had more configuration options to build our dream laptop.

After all, the Blade 16 is ultra-lightweight and sports a more powerful GPU, up to the Nvidia RTX 5090. And it gets far better battery life than the Alienware or the Strix. But if you’re looking for the best balance of performance, price, and portability, it’s hard to do better than the ROG Strix G16 (G614FR).

Le ROG Strix G16 de 2025 est un superbe châssis, très bien conçu, qui a autant le mérite d'être confortable à l'usage que d'être extrêmement pratique grâce à sa large connectique. Certes, il manque un petit lecteur SD pour être parfait, mais difficile de lui en tenir rigueur, surtout en considérant la facilité avec laquelle on peut accéder aux composants internes. L'écran IPS LCD est de très bonne facture, aussi lumineux qu'il est très bien calibré. Il ne lui manque finalement qu'une réelle compatibilité HDR. Et la puissance offerte par notre version de test en RTX 5060 est très bonne, mais il est évident que le châssis est fait pour bien plus. Cependant, l'absence de souffle puissant des ventilateurs grâce à cette modération est rafraîchissante. Au bout, le ROG Strix G16 de 2025 est un très bon PC gamer portable qui manque peut-être de son "X factor" pour sortir du lot.

The flashy redesign paired with fiercely powerful new chips means there are just so many things to love about this guy. And if you’re looking for a powerful gaming/content creation laptop that will age gracefully over the years, the Strix G16 definitely looks like one of your top choices at around NPR 4 lakhs. Yes, I completely agree that Asus could’ve done a better job in terms of the price. Considering there are other RTX 5070 Ti laptops in Nepal at a lower price, like the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI (2025). But the Strix G16 does have its own charm with a superior design, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, nicer RGB, and slightly better thermals, to name a few.
