Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 198.4 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 99 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 198.4 Hz est relativement faible, les personnes les plus sensibles devraient percevoir un scintillement et être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire accrue (avec le niveau de luminosité indiqué)

Alors que la plupart des fabricants ne proposent pas de bonnes performances avec les processeurs AMD dans leurs châssis classiques, Huawei démontre avec le MateBook D qu’une bonne intégration de la technologie AMD dans un portable fin est possible. Les performances sont au niveau de celles du modèle Intel, et seule l’autonomie s’avère un peu moins bonne. Cependant, la différence de prix est un gros avantage pour l’appareil AMD, celui que nous avons testé étant d’environ 300 € moins cher que le modèle équipé d’un processeur Intel moins puissant.

Le Huawei MateBook D propose plus de performances avec le processeur AMD, mais hérite également des faiblesses déjà présentes dans la version Intel.

Les points négatifs déjà relevés concernant l’écran et les ports sont ainsi reproduits ici, et empêchent le portable Huawei d’avoir une meilleure note. L’appareil fin présentera néanmoins bien dans n’importe quel environnement professionnel, et sera capable de gérer les exigences d’un tel portable.
