Puissant mais sans autonomie. Dell a retravaillé ses plus grosses stations de travail Precision, dont fait partie le Precision 7730. Le nouveau 17,3 pouces est plus compact que son prédécesseur, même si c’est difficile à voir quand les deux appareils ne sont pas côte à côte. Le Precision 7730 est certainement puissant, mais est-ce que ses 92 Wh lui permettront de tenir la distance ?

Vous serez pardonnés de penser que pas grand-chose n’a changé avec la nouvelle série Precision 7700. Dell rend le 7730 encore plus compact que son prédécesseur, mais il est toujours fait des mêmes matériaux.

Le Precision 7730 possède toujours un bon clavier, un châssis robuste, et de nombreux ports. De plus, Dell propose plus de configurations que ses concurrents, ce qui rend la série plus flexible pour les clients. Notre modèle possède d’excellentes performances du processeur et de la carte graphique, comme c’est souvent le cas avec les stations de travail, et nous saluons la présence de versions avec écrans mats. Dell a également équipé la machine d’un lecteur de carte SD étonnamment rapide, et inclut une garantie de 36 mois par défaut.

Le Dell Precision 7730 est une excellente station de travail, gâchée par une autonomie décevante.

Le plus gros problème du Precision 7730 est son autonomie anémique. Alors que la plupart des gens garderont la station de travaille branchée à cause de sa taille, le ThinkPad P72 est une meilleure option pour ceux qui ont occasionnellement besoin d’utiliser leur appareil loin d’une prise électrique. De plus, notre appareil possède des températures extérieures trop élevées, et bride exagérément le CPU et le GPU sur batterie.

C’est également dommage de voir une station de travail affectée par des fuites de lumière, et par le retrait du lecteur d’empreintes digitales, pourtant présent sur le Precision 7720.

Tout compte fait, nous pouvons toujours recommander le Precision 7730 si vous êtes à la recherche d’une station de travail : mis à part l’autonomie, tout répond au cahier des charges pour une station de travail. Il faudra toujours avoir un chargeur si vous comptez utiliser la machine en déplacements - mais de toutes façons les stations de travail restent trop encombrantes pour une telle utilisation.
