L’Asus ROG Strix GL703VD est un portable de compromis. Il faut louer ses excellentes qualités, parmi lesquelles on notera des performances excellentes pour cette classe, un écran 120 Hz fluide, une quantité généreuse de ports, et un châssis visuellement réussi plutôt costaud pour sa finesse.

Mais ces avantages s’accompagnent d’inconvénients. Alors que les performances pour le jeu sont excellentes, le throttle du CPU l'empêche d'atteindre tout son potentiel. L’écran 120 Hz est fluide, mais il souffre de grosses fuites de lumière et d’un contraste médiocre. Le châssis est compact et joli, mais devient trop chaud au toucher pendant les jeux.

Doit-on acheter le GL703VM ? Cela dépend de ce qui importe le plus pour vous en tant que joueur. Pour ceux qui veulent des performances de jeu astronomiques et un écran rapide, et sont prêts à accepter des compromis sur la chauffe et la qualité d’image, alors le GL703VM peut être une option. Sinon, le MSI GS73VR propose également un châssis réussi et fin, de bonnes performances, et un excellent clavier, avec les avantages d'avoir un écran 4K en option, et une gestion thermique bien meilleure durant les jeux.

En fin de compte, tout cela a un prix. A ce prix de vente, c’est une évidence : le GL703VM est tout simplement trop cher vu ses défauts. D’autres portables excellent là où le GL703VM pèche, tout en se rapprochant ou en égalant ses qualités, à un prix moins élevé. Si vous trouvez le GL703VM en réduction, ça vaut le coup de le prendre en compte. Sinon, passez à un autre.
