Ce n’est pas trop difficile de trouver des failles aux ordinateurs de jeu bon marché, les constructeurs devant suivre une ligne prudente entre des matériaux pas trop chers avec un look attrayant, et un équipement assez puissant pour séduire le plus grand nombre de clients possible. Pour l’Omen 15, nous serions tenté de critiquer le châssis en métal avec des arrêtes plutôt vives, les fuites de lumière plutôt visibles, ou le système de refroidissement assez gênant. Mais aucun de ces défauts n’est vraiment bloquant pour un appareil de jeu : tout bien considéré, le HP Omen 15 est un système Max-Q abordable, avec assez de puissance pour faire tourner la plupart des jeux actuels au moins en Full HD.

Le nouveau design, plus tape-à-l’œil, ne plaira pas à tout le monde, mais la qualité de construction est correcte, avec une bonne résistance aux torsions de la base, et une bonne solidité du clavier. Les périphériques d’entrée fonctionnent bien, les composants sont puissants, et l’écran IPS UHD lumineux est - surtout après calibrage - plutôt incroyable au vu du prix. L’Omen 15 chauffe pas mal, mais pas autant que d’autres machines. Les ventilateurs en revanche sont plutôt gênants, se mettant régulièrement en marche, et en variant beaucoup d’intensité.

Les clients à la recherche d’un portable de jeu du bas ou du milieu de gamme abordable avec un écran 4K doivent certainement mettre l’Omen 15 sur leur liste.

Le portable de jeu Dell Inspiron 15 est équipé d’un moins bon écran, mais possède des performances très honnêtes également, ainsi qu'une autonomie presque doublée.
