EN→FRYes – but only if you can find it at a discount. At anything under £600, the F8 Ultra represents superb value for money, combining flagship-level performance with incredible battery life. At full price, the shortcomings become harder to ignore, most notably in the software and low-light camera performance. But Poco’s first ‘Ultra’ phone is an undoubted success, and it gives more established rivals a real run for their money.

EN→FRAfter a somewhat tentative debut, Xiaomi’s second attempt at a budget-friendly Ultra phone shows far more confidence in the concept. Its design is bold without being brash, the new display is big and bright, the sound output is excellent, and performance is among the very best phones on the market. Camera quality has taken a marked step forward, though I still wouldn’t class it as an ‘Ultra’ experience in the traditional sense. Battery life, too, is good rather than great, especially given the size of the cell. Away from the hardware, HyperOS continues to be a difficult UI to warm to, but it’s adequately fluid and customisable. All of these improvements need to be taken within the context of a significant price bump, however. As a media-focused smartphone, it’s difficult to think of a phone that hits as hard as the Poco F8 Ultra for the money, but it doesn’t quite prompt the same price tag double take as some of its more affordable brothers.

EN→FRPoco may have started out as a budget, value-oriented brand from Xiaomi, but it has been steadily moving up the smartphone totem pole over the years. Case in point: The Poco F8 Ultra ventures into premium flagship territory. It not only boasts Qualcomm's 2026 flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor — keeping to Poco's roots of performance-oriented devices — but also ropes in well-known audio brand Bose to help tune the 2.1-channel audio on the smartphone. But aside from the sound, which probably isn't a high priority for consumers, the Poco F8 Ultra also comes with solid camera upgrades, including the debut of a periscope telephoto lens in a Poco phone, that bring it in line with the elevated expectations for a proper flagship phone.

EN→FRThe Xiaomi Poco F8 Ultra arrives as a powerful flagship released on November 26, 2025, and it clearly aims to deliver premium value without an extreme price tag. It has a tall and sleek 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 1200×2608 resolution, smooth 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and a strong peak brightness of 3500 nits, making outdoor visibility excellent. The phone feels solid with its mix of Poco Shield Glass, an aluminum alloy frame, and either a fiber-reinforced plastic or silicone polymer back. It also carries an IP68 rating, adding proper dust and water resistance. HyperOS 3 on top of Android 16 works smoothly, and the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor adds a premium touch. Performance is one of the strongest highlights thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU.

Reviewing Xiaomi's POCO F8 Ultra, boasting many upgrades to the performance, battery tech, camera hardware, audio setup and specs vs the old F7 model. I've been testing the gaming chops, battery life, speakers and other bits by using the POCO F8 Ultra as my full-time phone for a week now. Is this one of the best smartphones of 2025? Well, it's certainly an enjoyable and more affordable rival to the OPPO Find X9 Pro, despite copying some iPhone 17 Pro Max elements. The Xiaomi POCO F8 Ultra may not have the best camera setup, but its night photography has been upgraded. If only it were better at shooting living subjects. Still, gamers will adore the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance and HyperOS 3 gaming mode.

The POCO F8 Ultra begins POCO’s partnership with Bose, bringing the best speakers system I’ve heard in a phone in a while with a dedicated woofer. The phone’s also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and packs a new main camera and 5X Periscope zoom lens that can grab some pretty nice 120mm portraits. The 6.9-inch OLED display also looks brilliant — vibrant and bright.

EN→FRPoco F8 Ultra feels like a confident step up from the F7 Ultra, not just a faster sequel. It combines a bold design, a huge 6.9-inch AMOLED, a genuinely impressive Bose-tuned 2.1 speaker system, and a serious camera stack built around the Light Fusion 950 main sensor and 5x periscope. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 plus the VisionBoost D8 chip deliver top-tier gaming performance with stable high frame rates, while the 6500 mAh battery and fast wired and wireless charging keep that power usable all day. It is not a perfect package, especially if you want the absolute best camera system, have smaller hands, or care deeply about long-term sustainability. The phone is wide, the ultrawide camera is less versatile than the rest of the system, and the software support window is only average in a segment that is rapidly improving.

EN→FRThe downside of having such impactful bass thumps is that it tends to drown out the other aspects of a track, like treble or vocals, and while this might not be an issue to some, the device also features two sound profiles suited for various needs. Dynamic, the default option, puts bass centrestage, while Balanced, which presents a more even soundstage and largely disables the enhancements provided by the woofer, makes it more akin to other devices. Both modes support further equalisation tweaks, such as a spatial audio setting or the ability to enhance vocals. Whether the F8 Ultra’s Bose-flavoured sound setup can entice buyers boils down to personal preference, with bass enthusiasts undoubtedly being the targeted audience, as the device’s subwoofer offers a truly unique audio experience not seen in any other device (except the Redmi).

EN→FRPoco wasn’t a smartphone brand that was on my radar until earlier this year, but I’m glad I’ve finally managed to get my hands on their devices. The F8 Ultra is another example of a flagship Android device that shuns the flagship pricing you often encounter with devices that run similar specs. The gaming focus is pretty obvious, but so too is the desire to create a smartphone that offers a brilliant camera, excellent performance, and superb battery life. And if you can get yours at that discounted launch pricing, you’re laughing. Another superb release from Poco.

EN→FROkay, so conclusion time, and yeah, as I said earlier, I believe Poco has made the right compromises in the right areas with the Poco F8 Ultra. And for the price, they have delivered an all-rounder flagship phone, with very minimal and small compromises. And if you consider Poco’s aggressive pricing strategy and all the early-bird discounts, I think this might actually offer better value than something like the OnePlus 15, especially if you are into cameras. Compared to the OnePlus 15, the Poco F8 Ultra definitely provides a much better camera experience, for sure. The main and telephoto lenses are just so good that I still can’t believe it.

EN→FRThe Poco F8 Ultra makes a few small missteps - no one is perfect. In the game of budgeting and market segmentation, a couple of camera choices ended up being less than ideal, though even in failing to provide everything, the phone still manages to do quite well with what it's got. Yes, we'd take a selfie camera with autofocus and we'd also prefer a wider ultrawide, but selfies aren't bad as is, and the ultrawide has its virtues (well, not in video). Similarly, the display may not go below 60Hz but with battery life as long as it is, how much better could things have been with more granular refresh rate control? Now, we'll admit that the long-term CPU load graph doesn't look good, but that too can easily be rationalized around. The list of positives is longer, we'd say.

EN→FRThe POCO F8 Ultra is, without a doubt, a flagship phone. It easily competes with the latest and greatest smartphones on the market and still manages to maintain POCO’s long-running theme of consumer first, with a more reasonable price point at $799 for the model tested. From updated hardware to a full redesign of the smartphone, the POCO F8 Ultra truly earns its place among the greats. The F8 Ultra is POCO’s most powerful phone to date and truly earns its flagship moniker.

EN→FRIt's not hard to recommend the Poco F8 Ultra. Even though the brand has moved away from the ultra-affordable niche, the F8 Ultra is a worthy flagship in its own right. It can compete with your iPhones and Galaxies, both in price and in features. Speaking of price, the base variant costs $729, which is fair for what the phone has to offer. The Poco F8 Ultra comes equipped with the latest and fastest Qualcomm processor, the phone has a gorgeous display that can get very bright, the camera system is versatile, and there's a dedicated subwoofer! Poco deserves innovation points for that one alone. What are the tradeoffs? Well, you don't get seven years of software support, and even though the camera system is decent, it can't compete with other "camera" phones, especially in the video department. If you're okay with that, the Poco F8 Ultra will feel as comfortable as a nice pair of jeans.

EN→FRIt’s got sharp looks, a standout screen, and is a bit of a speed demon in apps and games. If that’s all you’re really after from a phone, the Poco F8 Ultra is an incredibly tempting alternative to flagships costing almost four figures. The restrained software and fast fingerprint sensor then make it particularly pleasant to use as a daily driver. This isn’t the last word in longevity, though, and its cameras take decent snaps rather than outstanding ones. While a OnePlus 15 will cost a fair bit more it’s the better all-rounder, while a photographer-focused 35mm lead lens makes the Nubia Z80 Ultra a tempting alternative.

EN→FRWrapping this video up, the POCO F8 Ultra is one of the most powerful flagship alternatives we’ve tested this year. In fact, at the time we shot this video, it’s the only device we have packing that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It offers unmatched performance, a versatile triple 50MP camera system, a massive battery with ultra-fast charging wired or wireless, a phenomenal display with a mobile 2.1 channel sound system, and a polished HyperOS experience. All of that while staying true to POCO’s mission of delivering top-tier hardware without the top-tier pricing. Our 16GB +512GB model gets an official Philippine SRP of PHP 42,999 and the 12GB+256GB variant goes for PHP 39,999. It may still be a little bit expensive for those with a standard midrange budget, but for the flagship chipset and features, one can question why most would need to shell out more than PHP 45K in the first place.

EN→FRIn the end, I’d argue the Poco F8 Ultra is an ideal phone for anyone who predominantly uses their phone for media and gaming. The power under the hood makes light work of most tasks, while the display and triple speaker system combine very nicely to produce an exceptionally immersive experience. I’d argue the battery life could be better for a battery this size, and the cameras – as always for Poco – could definitely do with improvement, but it’s hard not to appreciate a lot of what Poco has managed to achieve here. It’s a multimedia powerhouse with a pretty decent price tag to boot.

EN→FRYes, the Poco F8 Ultra is a solid purchase. It’s Poco’s most mature phone yet, and its easy-to-live-with nature and reliable performance means it’ll suit people looking for something different. Don’t expect the slickness of a Samsung phone or the ever-more-mainstream appeal of the OnePlus 15 though. This is still a left-field choice, and irritations in the software and inconsistency in the camera betray it. However, the Bose audio, versatile telephoto camera, long-lasting battery, and a mostly tamed Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mean the compromises are far less of a problem than on previous Poco phones, and if media is what you use your phone for most, it'll really impress.

EN→FRAlthough the F8 Ultra is launching just eight months after its predecessor, it comes with meaningful upgrades. The cameras take better photos, and the addition of a 5x lens gives the phone greater versatility. The design itself is cleaner this time around, and I really like the denim finish — I'd like to see this make its way to Xiaomi's global phones at some point. The panel may be seen as a downgrade, but that isn't actually the case in daily use, and it has better color vibrancy and gets brighter. The phone isn't short on power, and if anything, the lack of console-quality games on Android is the limiting factor in this area.

Xiaomi's Poco F8 Ultra is launching globally at the end of 2025, if the latest web rumours are to be believed. This rebranded Redmi K90 Pro Max should offer solid value, boasting a flagship camera, SD 8 Elite Gen 5 performance and killer battery life. Here's what we know about the Poco F8 Ultra ahead of the official release. Just as the F7 Ultra packed the best chipset of its time - Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite - the fresh Poco F8 Ultra will be powered by the new beefcake on the block, the Gen 5. Expect games like Wuthering Waves to run beautifully, with a maxed out frame rate. The Poco F8 Ultra should boast a top-end camera setup too, headlined by a Light Hunter 950 sensor. This should be backed by a proper periscope telephoto shooter with 5x optical zoom. Sadly the Redmi K90 Pro Max's 7560mAh battery is expected to slim down for the Poco F8 Ultra to 6500mAh - not bad, for sure. That screen is a mighty 6.9-inch AMOLED and you can expect a proper good stereo speaker arrangement too.
