Intel Frost Canyon i7 - Intel NUC NUC10i7FNH, fourni par Intel Germany.

L’Intel NUC NUC10i7FNH est un mini PC puissant. Le nouveau SoC Comet Lake possède 6 cœurs et 12 threads, ce qui rend l’appareil très intéressant pour les utilisations multithread. Si vous choisissez ce NUC six cœurs, vous aurez également 16 Go de mémoire, un SSD avec 256 Go de stockage, et un disque dur de 1 To, en plus de l’Intel Core i7-10710U. Il y a également une licence Windows 10. Si vous voulez équiper l’appareil vous-mêmes, vous pouvez aussi acheter le NUC sans stockage ni RAM, mais il faudra alors acheter la licence Windows séparément – le NUC "vide" coûte environ 570 €.

Six cœurs dans un mini PC, voilà ce qu’Intel propose avec le NUC 10 NUC10i7FNH. C’est un excellent moyen d’exécuter les tâches multithread en un rien de temps.

Intel a choisi d’installer des composants du meilleur niveau : avec le Wifi 6 et l’Intel Core i7-10710U, la machine est équipée pour le futur. Le petit ordinateur possède également des ports modernes. Et le fait que ce NUC ne possède qu’une seule sortie HDMI n’est pas vraiment un problème, le port Thunderbolt 3 étant bien plus complet et polyvalent. Il y également un lecteur de carte SD prenant en charge l’UHS II.

Malheureusement, peu de choses ont changé visuellement, ce qui ne permet pas au NUC de se différencier de ses prédécesseurs. Les connaisseurs reconnaîtront cependant la bonne version, grâce aux ports. La philosophie de ce mini PC est que ce qui est familier est plaisant, et ne doit donc pas être changé. Son allure et ses finitions sont de ce fait toujours convaincantes, bien que nous aurions apprécié avoir quelque chose d’un peu plus solide au-dessus. Nous devons aussi critiquer le système de refroidissement, parce que le bruit aigu est à la longue fatiguant.

Mais quel NUC est le meilleur ? Au final, c’est à chaque utilisateur de choisir quelles sont ses priorités. Avoir un appareil si compact avec 6 cœurs et 12 threads, c’est quelque chose. Mais cela a un prix, et la version Core i5-10210U légèrement moins chère n’est que légèrement moins puissant au quotidien. Si un usage bureautique simple prévaut, le modèle moins puissant est suffisant. Le NUC 10 NUC10i7FNH est cependant plus adapté aux usages plus intensifs comme l’édition d’images ou vidéo. Mais le NUC performant est également adapté pour être une petite station de travail pour machines virtuelles.
