Le Xiaomi Poco F8 Pro se positionne comme un flagship abordable, offrant un chipset Snapdragon 8 Elite, un GPU Adreno 830. Son écran AMOLED de 6,59 pouces offre un taux de rafraîchissement de 120 Hz, un support HDR10+/Dolby Vision, un pic de luminosité très élevé et une densité de pixels élevée, ce qui le rend adapté aux jeux et aux médias. S'il fallait reprocher quelque chose au Poco F8 Pro, en dehors d'être si vite sorti sur le marché après son grand frère, ce serait surtout son manque d'originalité. Très sage et classique sur le fond et la forme, le smartphone de Xiaomi n'a pas vraiment d'éléments qui lui permettent de ressortir de la masse de la concurrence. C'est dire si nous peinons à trouver de véritable défauts à ce smartphone. Très performant, très endurant, complet côté photo malgré quelques loupés, et doté d'un très bel écran, le Poco F8 Pro coche toutes les principales cases du flagship killer qu'il est.

Sa dalle AMOLED très lumineuse, son Snapdragon 8 Elite, ses 12 Go de RAM, sa batterie de 6210 mAh et sa charge 100 W en font un compagnon particulièrement efficace pour le jeu, le streaming et le multitâche intensif, malgré une tendance à chauffer rapidement. Si l’on avait le luxe des demi-notes chez Clubic, le POCO F8 Pro se qualifierait pour un poli 7,5/10. C’est finalement pour la note inférieure que j’ai décidé de me positionner. Pas mauvais bougre, le nouveau smartphone de milieu de gamme de POCO n’est juste pas très impressionnant… ni très intéressant. À son prix de lancement, de 519 €, le POCO F8 Pro ferait tourner de nombreuses têtes. Mais, certainement pas à 653 €. Trop proche d’autres modèles plus extravagants, trop chargé en pubs et en applications préinstallées, le smartphone rate surtout complètement son sujet avec un téléobjectif globalement médiocre. Dommage, pour une nouveauté ! Ajoutons à cela un partenariat avec Bose qui semble surtout là pour faire joli, et nous obtenons un bilan un peu fade, pour un énième smartphone dont il existe déjà des dizaines d’ersatz sur le marché. Est-ce un mauvais choix pour autant ?

The areas where the phone loses to the competition are the camera and the lack of wireless charging. You can get decent results from the main camera and even some fine portraits using the 2.5X telephoto, but the ultrawide is uninspiring, and the video is also pretty mediocre. If you can live with these drawbacks, the Poco F8 Pro will give you a lot of joy as a daily driver.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Unité graphique intégrée dans le SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite pour smartphones avec trois tranches de 1,1 GHz chacune. Cache partagé intégré de 12 Mo pour les trois tranches. Selon Qualcomm, 40% plus rapide que la génération précédente (Adreno 750).
Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.
