S'il fallait reprocher quelque chose au Poco F8 Pro, en dehors d'être si vite sorti sur le marché après son grand frère, ce serait surtout son manque d'originalité. Très sage et classique sur le fond et la forme, le smartphone de Xiaomi n'a pas vraiment d'éléments qui lui permettent de ressortir de la masse de la concurrence. C'est dire si nous peinons à trouver de véritable défauts à ce smartphone. Très performant, très endurant, complet côté photo malgré quelques loupés, et doté d'un très bel écran, le Poco F8 Pro coche toutes les principales cases du flagship killer qu'il est.

Le Poco F8 Pro s’impose comme un excellent choix pour qui cherche un smartphone très puissant, avec un des meilleurs écrans de sa catégorie et une autonomie de tout premier plan, sans basculer dans les prix stratosphériques des flagships. Sa dalle AMOLED très lumineuse, son Snapdragon 8 Elite, ses 12 Go de RAM, sa batterie de 6210 mAh et sa charge 100 W en font un compagnon particulièrement efficace pour le jeu, le streaming et le multitâche intensif, malgré une tendance à chauffer rapidement. En contrepartie, la partie photo reste en-dessous des meilleurs smartphones du marché, surtout la nuit et sur l’ultra grand-angle, et on regrettera surtout l’absence d’un subwoofer sur la partie audio, qui nous avait tellement plu sur son grand frère.

Le Poco F8 Pro s’impose comme un excellent choix pour qui cherche un smartphone très puissant, avec un des meilleurs écrans de sa catégorie et une autonomie de tout premier plan, sans basculer dans les prix stratosphériques des flagships. Sa dalle AMOLED très lumineuse, son Snapdragon 8 Elite, ses 12 Go de RAM, sa batterie de 6210 mAh et sa charge 100 W en font un compagnon particulièrement efficace pour le jeu, le streaming et le multitâche intensif, malgré une tendance à chauffer rapidement. Si l’on avait le luxe des demi-notes chez Clubic, le POCO F8 Pro se qualifierait pour un poli 7,5/10. C’est finalement pour la note inférieure que j’ai décidé de me positionner. Pas mauvais bougre, le nouveau smartphone de milieu de gamme de POCO n’est juste pas très impressionnant… ni très intéressant. À son prix de lancement, de 519 €, le POCO F8 Pro ferait tourner de nombreuses têtes. Mais, certainement pas à 653 €. Trop proche d’autres modèles plus extravagants, trop chargé en pubs et en applications préinstallées, le smartphone rate surtout complètement son sujet avec un téléobjectif globalement médiocre. Dommage, pour une nouveauté ! Ajoutons à cela un partenariat avec Bose qui semble surtout là pour faire joli, et nous obtenons un bilan un peu fade, pour un énième smartphone dont il existe déjà des dizaines d’ersatz sur le marché. Est-ce un mauvais choix pour autant ?

Au final, comme ce fut le cas il y a 6 mois, le Poco F8 Ultra est un très bon smartphone, il est complet et coche quasiment toutes les cases. Alors oui, si vous avez déjà un F7 Ultra, on ne vous conseillera pas la mise à jour. En revanche, si vous n’aviez pas encore passé le pas, le Poco F8 Ultra est un excellent choix. A défaut donc d’être excellent dans un domaine particulier, il est très bon dans tous les domaines. Et c’est peut-être ce qu’on recherche en terme de meilleur rapport qualité-prix en cette fin 2025. Alors attention, le Poco F8 Ultra coûte plus cher que le F7 Ultra à sa sortie mais reste tout de même un très bon rapport qualité-prix, surtout quand on connaît la concurrence. Et pour ceux qui s'inquiètent au sujet de la photo, le F8 Ultra s'en sort très bien et on va être honnête, seul un tout petit pourcentage verront une différence avec un smartphone premium.

Son processeur de dernière génération, son affichage lumineux et son autonomie solide le placent en tête des smartphones gaming, sans négliger ceux qui recherchent simplement un appareil polyvalent. Bien que la gestion thermique puisse être un point à surveiller lors de longues sessions de jeu, son rapport qualité-prix reste excellent. Si vous êtes en quête d’un terminal performant, robuste, et équilibré, le Poco F8 Ultra mérite donc toute votre attention. Xiaomi signe ici un excellent smartphone. En effet, le Poco F8 Ultra a beau être un produit pensé pour les gamers, c’est avant tout un mobile qui a été dessiné avec soin, qui a du style, et qui arrive à passer au-delà des clichés associés aux joueurs. Il est bien conçu, solide et son écran est de bon niveau. Il offre un affichage très fin, même si la luminosité aurait pu être un brin plus élevée. Les performances sont au top, nous n’avons rien à dire. Le nouveau SoC Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 est simplement une tuerie et nous avons en plus une bonne gestion de la chaleur. Par contre, le throttling est un peu déficient ici, avec des chutes brusques et importantes régulières avant de revenir au meilleur niveau de performance. Pour ceux qui font des sessions de jeu courtes, peu de chance qu’ils soient impactés.

Il est bien conçu, solide et son écran est de bon niveau. Il offre un affichage très fin, même si la luminosité aurait pu être un brin plus élevée. Les performances sont au top, nous n’avons rien à dire. Le nouveau SoC Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 est simplement une tuerie et nous avons en plus une bonne gestion de la chaleur. Par contre, le throttling est un peu déficient ici, avec des chutes brusques et importantes régulières avant de revenir au meilleur niveau de performance. Pour ceux qui font des sessions de jeu courtes, peu de chance qu’ils soient impactés.

Xiaomi:

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Unité graphique intégrée dans le SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite pour smartphones avec trois tranches de 1,1 GHz chacune. Cache partagé intégré de 12 Mo pour les trois tranches. Selon Qualcomm, 40% plus rapide que la génération précédente (Adreno 750).

Qualcomm Adreno 840: Unité graphique intégrée dans le SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 pour smartphones avec trois tranches à 1,2 GHz chacune. Selon Qualcomm, elle est 23 % plus rapide que celle de la génération précédente (Adreno 830).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8 Elite: SoC (System on a Chip) haut de gamme pour smartphones présenté fin 2024. Il intègre deux cœurs rapides Oryon Gen 2 Prime Cores pouvant atteindre 4,32 GHz et 6 cœurs plus petits Oryon Gen 2 Performance Cores pouvant atteindre 3,53 GHz.
