EN→FRA good chunk of iPhone 17 Pro owners won't necessarily stretch the limits of its processing power, or its video capture tech. I suspect the same could be said for last year's phone, and Apple's flagship from the year before that. Nonetheless, improvements in the iPhone 17, along with the arrival of the iPhone Air, make it easier to list the reasons you might want to go Pro this time. It has the best battery life, the most powerful chipset, and, in the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the biggest screen. It has more cameras and an ever-useful longer telephoto lens; LIDAR where the others go without; and a much faster USB-C port (USB 3 for up to 10 Gb/s, versus the others' 480 MB/s USB 2) with support for video capture to an external SSD. I'd say the iPhone 17 Pro Max gets the biggest bang for your buck on display and battery life.

The new ProRes RAW for video will unlock new possibilities for current or aspiring videographers or influencers that are looking to up their game. The new selfie camera is plain cool. But let's be real. Another year — another iPhone. Predictable, solid, well-performing and well-enduring. Those things were true for the iPhone 16 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max before it. And they still ring true — they are not suddenly bad phones because there's a new shiny toy out. In other words, if you are happy with your current iPhone Pro Max and don't feel like something's bogging you down in performance or battery — maybe you can skip the upgrade for another year.

For everyone else, the regular iPhone 17 is the top value-for-dollar iPhone available and should be all you need, earning it our Editors' Choice award. But if you want the biggest screen, the longest battery life, or the best cameras, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will make you very happy.

Apple A19 Pro 6-Core GPU: Adaptateur graphique relativement rapide dont est équipé le SoC Apple A18 Pro. Cet iGPU possède 6 cœurs et est compatible RT ; il semble qu'il soit basé sur la même architecture que les GPU de la série M4. Il a réussi à battre le GPU M1 à 7 cœurs de Apple dans de nombreux tests lors de notre test d'octobre 2024.
Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

A19 Pro: Ce puissant processeur pour smartphone est le successeur officiel du A17 Pro. Il comporte 2 cœurs de performance et 4 cœurs efficaces, ainsi qu'un NPU 35 TOPS et le GPU A18 Pro à 6 cœurs. Le A18 Pro laisse le Dimensity 9300 ainsi que le Apple A17 Pro et le Apple A18 assez loin derrière avec un avantage d'au moins 10 % en ce qui concerne les performances multithread ; le GPU à 6 cœurs parvient quant à lui à battre le GPU M1 à 7 cœurs dans de nombreux tests.
