Avec les portables multimédias, c’est toujours intéressant de voir où le fabricant a fait des économies. Il ne faut pas avoir d’illusions, et il est toujours certain qu’il y a des économies faites quelque part.

Bien sûr, un portable multimédia abordable peut avoir des points forts. Par exemple, grâce à de fines bordures, le VivoBook S15 S530UN est plutôt compact pour un 15,6 pouces. Les performances du CPU sont supérieures à celles de la majorité des concurrents directs de cet appareil, parce que le VivoBook fait bon usage de son potentiel. Par rapport à son prédécesseur, l’autonomie s’est bien améliorée (malgré sa petite taille), et Asus utilise la version la plus puissante de la Nvidia GeForce MX150. De plus, il est facile de faire évoluer l’Asus VivoBook S15 S430UN. Nous pouvons également signaler les qualités globales de l’écran. Son contraste n’est vraiment pas mauvais pour un appareil de cette classe, et il ne possède pas de faiblesses comme de la MLI ou des fuites de lumière.

Il faut quand même pointer la mauvaise couverture de l’espace colorimétrique. Pour un appareil multimédia qui coûte plus de 1 000 € dans cette configuration, nous espérons mieux. Parmi les défauts, on note également l’absence de SSD PCIe-NVMe et l’organisation étrange du clavier en Allemagne (QWERTZ ANSI, nous ne savons pas comment sont les versions francaises). Les deux USB A à gauche sont en USB 2.0, et l’USB C à droite n’est pas compatible Thunderbolt 3. Ce dernier peut être considéré comme du luxe, mais le port USB C n’a pas non plus de fonctionnalités DisplayPort.

De plus, Asus n’a intégré qu’un lecteur de carte micro SD, et il est très lent - les concurrents sont également très lents, mais ce sont la plupart du temps de vrais ports SD. Le VivoBook possède également quelques problèmes de qualité, en particulier avec la solidité du clavier qui cède trop sous la pression, et avec le ventilateur, qui produit un son sourd. C’est également dommage que les performances soient bridées sur batterie, et que le throttling s’invite en cas de stress tests.

De nombreux petits défauts pour économiser de l’argent, mais un résultat pas trop mauvais ; voilà l’Asus VivoBook S15 S530UN.

Aucun portable de cette classe n’est parfait, et l’Asus VivoBook S15 S530UN peut valoir le coup, s’il possède les qualités que vous cherchez - et si vous êtes au courant de ses faiblesses.
