Bureautique abordable. HP propose un PC portable orienté bureautique-domicile avec le 15-ba077ng. Il est peu bruyant, chauffe peu et possède un SSD rapide. Cependant, il a aussi des défauts. Ce n'est en rien surprenant au vu de son prix d'environ 450 € (~482 $ US).

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.
Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) décelé 50 Hz ≤ 70 Niveau de luminosité

Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 50 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 70 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 50 Hz est extrêmement faible, de grands risques de fatigue oculaire accrue et de maux de tête en cas d'utilisation prolongée.

En comparaison, 51 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 9352 (minimum : 43 - maximum : 142900) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

Le temps de réponse d'un écran mesure la rapidité à laquelle l'écran est capable de changer une couleur pour une autre. Un temps de réponse élevé se traduit par une image floutée pour les objets en mouvement. Les joueurs bénéficieront de faibles latences d'affichage en jeu.

L'APU d'AMD fournit assez de performances pour une utilisation bureautique et web. De plus, il permet de faire tourner occasionnellement des jeux peu exigeants en ressources ou un peu anciens. Les nuisances sonores sont acceptables sur tout la plage de fonctionnement et la chauffe est modérée.

HP propose un PC portable abordable pour une utilisation bureautique-domicile avec le 15-ba077ng.

Un SSD rapide permet de garantir la fluidité du système. On peut remplacer ce dernier, mais il faudra pour cela démonter le boitier, du fait de l'absence de trappe de maintenance. Le clavier intégré et l'autonomie médiocre ne conviennent qu'à une utilisation à domicile. L'écran Full-HD n'a rien de particulier, il est peu lumineux, avec un taux de contraste faible et des angles de vision restreints.

Les compromis importants que HP a fait ne sont pas visibles au premier coup d'œil. La gamme de prix d'environ 450 € (~482 $ US) donne un indice. HP n'offre qu'un an de garantie là ou les autres constructeurs en offrent deux. Le module WiFi ne supporte pas la norme 802.11-ac et le port Ethernet est limité à 100Mb/s. Aucun port USB Type-C non plus. En plus de cela, on observe une fluctuation de luminosité PWM  de l'écran à 50 Hz en utilisation sur batterie (mais pas lorsqu'il est branché au secteur).

Les différents tests et benchmarks que nous avons effectué montrent clairement que les systèmes équipés d'APU AMD n'ont une chance sur le marché que s'ils sont nettement moins chers que leurs concurrents Intel: Les performances des processeurs AMD sont plus faibles tout en consommant plus d'énergie. Ce dernier point conduit donc à une autonomie plus faible. Les performances un peu plus importantes des GPU intégrés Radeon par rapport aux HD Graphics d'Intel, n'apportent aucun réel avantage au quotidien à l'utilisateur. AMD devra apporter d'importantes améliorations avec ses nouveaux APU Ryzen pour tenir tête à Intel et redevenir pertinent dans le secteur des PC portables.
