Les changements avec la génération précédente se situent dans les détails : appareil photo avec deux ouvertures, fonction Slow Motion et haut-parleurs stéréo. Sans aucun doute, le Galaxy S9 est le smartphone le plus intéressant à ce jour.

La série Galaxy S a su bien évoluer et s’ajuster au fil du temps. Par contre, je crois que le Samsung Galaxy S9 aurait pu être plus petit sans que cela affecte son utilisation, puisque l’offre d’un format plus grand existe déjà (S9+). L’appareil est extrêmement performant dans tous les cas, même lorsqu’il est en mode économie d’énergie ! Il offre de belles et grandes possibilités et est en mesure d’être performant pendant longtemps. Et grâce à l’appareil photo, vous prendrez de superbes clichés, le jour comme la nuit.

Vendu au prix fort, il subit moins la concurrence des autres constructeurs du marché que celle du Galaxy S8 qui est aujourd'hui vendu moins cher et fournit sensiblement la même expérience. Aux alentours de 500 euros, prix auquel on retrouve le S8 désormais, la note de ce test passerait à 8/10, mais une chose est sûre : le téléphone n'a pas les moyens de dépasser cette note.

Alors que penser de ce Galaxy S9 ? Sans conteste, le terminal coche toutes les cases d'un smartphone haut de gamme du moment, des performances au design en passant par l'écran ou la photo. Est-il vraiment un grand bond en avant par rapport à son prédécesseur ? Non. Les évolutions sont évidemment les bienvenues et la partie photo s'améliore, mais elle n'est pas révolutionnaire et on regrette que le smartphone perde au passage en autonomie. Très clairement, il s'agit d'un produit de transition pour Samsung et comme pour tous les produits de transition, leur achat n'est que rarement justifié d'une année sur l'autre.

Il devient de plus en plus difficile d’innover sur un rythme de sortie annuel, et cela se ressent sur ce Galaxy S9. Cette première prise en main était très agréable, mais en même temps très familière… Alors oui, tout est mieux sur ce S9 : le DeX, les photos, la puissance… Mais il manque ce petit “plus”, cette petite fraicheur qu’avaient les 2 précédents modèles. Personnellement, je suis plus que séduit par les capacités incroyables du capteur à ouverture variable, et rien que pour cela, ce nouveau Flagship m’attire. Mais je représente une niche, avec un “besoin photo” très fort. Le grand public sautera-t-il le pas vers cette nouvelle itération de transition, ou attendra t-il la 10e Galaxie ?

Ce n'est qu'en prenant le Galaxy S9 dans une main et le Galaxy S8 dans l'autre que l'on peut voir les différences. De plus, Samsung a placé du matériel solide sous le capot, principalement au niveau de l'appareil photo avec son double objectif, du mode SuperSlowMotion et du haut-parleur stéréo qui font du Galaxy S9 un smartphone très intéressant pour la première moitié de 2018.

The start of my conclusion is one you’ve no doubt heard over and over, especially when it is in reference to a Samsung product: at RM3,699, the Galaxy Tab S9 is by no means cheap nor is it affordable, but I am hardly exaggerating when I say that this is a premium, high-end tablet that really makes its pedigree shine through. My contention with its already smaller form factor notwithstanding, 11-inches is still a lot easier to whip out in the middle of an airport terminal or coffee shop, be it to casually binge on a series you’ve been dying to catch up on, or to simply reply to emails quickly. The latter task made simpler, thanks in no small part to the keyboard cover that it comes bundled with. At the end of the day, the Tab S9 is, quite sincerely, the very definition of the phrase “You get what you pay for”. Given the hardware, power, and performance, it is, in my eyes, worth every red sen that Samsung is asking for.

The camera on the S9 struggles in low light and is not nearly as good or as sophisticated as its bigger sibling, the S9+, and that is a total bummer. Overall, the Galaxy S9 is another winner from the South Korean giant, even if, fundamentally, what we're getting is a new phone in an older casing. All of the big changes on the Galaxy S9 Plus - and the standard S9 - take place on the inside; the outer shell is almost identical to last year's device. While there are a lot of elements in this package which don't work as well as they possibly should - AR Emojis being the prime example - there's no escaping the fact that in the fast-changing world of Android smartphones, the S9 Plus is the best that money can buy right now.

Samsung has been some nice software improvements on the S9 and I haven’t run into much issues. TouchWiz and Android Oreo have been playing together nicely. While the Galaxy S9 is pretty identical to the Galaxy S8 on the outside its hardware changes especially to the camera and its speakers are a much needed and welcome change. If you have a S8 I wouldn’t suggest the jump to the S9 but anything below that I’d say it’s worth the move.

Just a quick personal observation. Samsung is finally learning to play the crowd with the Galaxy S9. Instead of just throwing new features, they're making sure things work better, and play better with each other. I really liked that small little tidbit about the Lilac Purple color not being some random afterthought and instead is in the spirit of Pantone's Color of the Year. For Samsung fans, the S9 is familiar and builds upon the features of last year's S8. It's not revolutionary, but it feels more usable, more accessible, and more fun.

Like we said earlier, potentially the most significant upgrades the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ bring are in the camera department - super-slow mo recording at 960fps, dual aperture capability on the rear camera sensor, which is capable of shooting at f/2.4 when there’s plenty of light, but can switch to f/1.5 when the phone detects low-light conditions. This is supplemented by a secondary 12-megapixel sensor on the Galaxy S9+ for a dual rear camera setup. Needless to say, the time we spent with the Galaxy S9 duo on Sunday wasn’t enough to make any definite comments on their camera capability, and we look forward to testing them out in detail soon.

La plupart des jeux pas trop demandants actuels peuvent tourner de façon fluide. soyez prêts à endurer un rendu graphique assez moche à cause de la basse résolution et des détails au minimum. Par ailleurs ces cartes sont suffisantes pour un travail de bureau et le visionnage de vidéos (pas évident pour la vidéo HD).
