Nous avons examiné de plus près l'appareil à 13 000 euros (~15 292 $) de notre test ; il est composé de l'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX et de la toute nouvelle AMD Radeon Pro W6800.

Lenovo est présent depuis longtemps sur le segment des stations de travail et propose, avec la série ThinkStation P620, une plate-forme solide basée sur le matériel le plus récent. Mais le fabricant n'utilise pas ici des composants standard. Au contraire, il utilise une plate-forme développée sur mesure, qui est adaptée aux besoins d'une station de travail. Dans notre échantillon de test, le boîtier modulaire et bien conçu est équipé de pas moins que le processeur AMD le plus puissant du moment et de la dernière carte graphique pour station de travail d'AMD.

L'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX rencontre l'AMD Radeon Pro W6800

L'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WXest un processeur à 64 cœurs avec un total de 128 threads. La carte graphique est l'AMD Radeon Pro W6800, qui succède à l'AMD Radeon Pro W5700 et est désormais basée sur RDNA2 comme les cartes graphiques de jeu de bureau actuelles. Cela signifie que l'AMD Radeon Pro W6800 offre également un support matériel pour le ray tracing en temps réel et peut accéder à 32 Go de VRAM. Avec une énorme mémoire vive DDR4 de 256 Go, même les applications très gourmandes en mémoire peuvent être maîtrisées sans problème, car grâce à l'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX, il y a un support octa-canal, ce qui conduit à de très bons taux de transfert de données de RAM. Avec 256 Go, le SSD installé dans notre modèle de test du P620 est très petit en comparaison. Il serait probablement préférable de choisir le modèle immédiatement supérieur lors du choix de la configuration.

En parlant de la configuration choisie : Vous pouvez personnaliser la Lenovo ThinkStation P620 à votre guise dans la boutique en ligne de Lenovo. Le fabricant y propose une grande variété d'options. Toutefois, les utilisateurs qui souhaitent acheter l'appareil dans la version que nous examinons devront mettre la main à la poche. Le prix de base (3 179 euros (~3 739 $)) est très éloigné de la configuration Ultimate : Le système utilisé dans notre test coûte environ 13 000 euros (~$15 292)

Bancs d'essai des processeurs - Le Threadripper Pro 3995WX est un monstre multi-core

LeAMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WXest un véritable monstre de traitement si l'on en croit les résultats des tests multicœurs. Avec ses 64 cœurs et un total de 128 threads, l'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX est le mieux adapté aux applications qui utilisent plusieurs cœurs de calcul. Cela inclut également la virtualisation de plusieurs ordinateurs sur un seul système, entre autres. Avec les généreux 256 Go de mémoire vive DDR4, cela ne pose pas un grand défi pour le vaisseau amiral. Cependant, le AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX ne peut pas profiter de la dernière architecture Zen3, car huit dies Matisse sont installés sous l'énorme dissipateur thermique, qui sont eux-mêmes basés sur l'architecture Zen2. Cela se traduit également par un déficit relativement important dans les tests mono-cœur par rapport aux processeurs Ryzen de la génération 5000. Dans le même temps, la fréquence d'horloge de base de 2,7 GHz du CPU 64 cœurs est également un peu plus conservatrice. Néanmoins, notre échantillon de test peut encore rivaliser avec le Intel Core i9-10980XE.

Performances des applications et du rendu

Dans notre configuration de test, la Lenovo ThinkStation P620 obtient des taux relativement bons dans nos tests d'application. L'AMD Radeon Pro W6800AMD Radeon Pro W6800 Grafikkarte - Benchmarks und Spezifikationen peut montrer ce dont il est capable dans les tests de rendu que nous avons effectués, comme SPECviewperf 2020. , qui peut être comparée à une Quadro RTX 6000. Néanmoins, il faut tenir compte des différents pilotes, car les modèles Quadro et Radeon Pro ont des pilotes spéciaux qui offrent des options supplémentaires et sont optimisés pour des performances et une stabilité élevées dans les applications professionnelles.

Le stockage intégré de notre configuration de test offre une capacité de 256 Go, et il fournit des taux de transfert très rapides grâce au protocole NVMe. En raison de l'espace de stockage très limité, nous avons ajouté notre Intel Optane 905P au système pour cet examen. Bien que lesiteAMD Radeon Pro W6800soit strictement une carte graphique haut de gamme pour station de travail, nous avons choisi quelques jeux pour évaluer les performances du GPU par rapport aux cartes graphiques de jeu les plus récentes. Avec ses 32 Go de VRAM intégrés, la carte AMD Radeon Pro W6800 est parfaitement adaptée aux jeux en 4K. La Lenovo ThinkStation P620 est étonnamment silencieuse

Il ne faut pas s'attendre à des taux élevés en termes d'émissions en raison des composants intégrés. Néanmoins, le système surprend avec un bruit de fonctionnement agréable en utilisation normale, qui est audible mais pas gênant, loin de là. Ce n'est qu'à pleine charge que la Lenovo ThinkStation P620 attire l'attention sur elle grâce à l'accélération de ses ventilateurs.
