Intel Core i9-10980XE
L'Intel Core i9-10980XE est un processeur haut de gamme pour PC de bureau ou stations de travail, basé sur la série Cascade Lake X. Il possède 18 cœurs processeurs cadencés entre 3 et 4,6 GHz (Turbo Boost 3.0). Le 10980XE possède une fréquence de Turbo supérieure de 200 MHz à celle de l'i9-9980XE, et intègre des instructions AVX-512 supplémentaires pour les petits types de données (8 bits et 18 bits intégrés). L'architecture de base est similaire à celle de Skylake. Grâce à l'HyperThreading, le processeur peut gérer jusqu'à 36 threads à la fois. Les différents cœurs sont reliés par un maillage et non par des bus en anneau comme sur les processeurs grand public.
Les performances des 18 cœurs CPU dans les logiciels multithread sont excellentes, mais dans les jeux et dans les sollicitations avec moins de threads, les CPU grand public puissants comme le Core i9-9900K sont plus rapides.
Le processeur possède une enveloppe thermique de 165 W, qui nécessite un gros et efficace système de refroidissement.
