Test du Comino GRANDO RM V2-S : station de travail pro avec 4 RTX A6000 et Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX

Poste de travail sur mesure ! Nous avons reçu de Comino une station de travail compacte de 19 pouces, qui est équipée de quatre Nvidia A6000 et d'un AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX. En outre, il y a un refroidissement liquide, qui est censé garder le CPU et les GPU sous contrôle. Nous avons examiné le système de plus près et expliquons les avantages et les inconvénients.

Comino est un fabricant de systèmes qui produit des stations de travail et des solutions complètes de centres de données multi-GPU en fonction des besoins des clients. Le fabricant associe le tout à un système de refroidissement liquide spécialement développé. Grâce à une fabrication parfaite et à des tests approfondis, Comino livre ses systèmes en qualité serveur, même s'il s'agit d'une station de travail ou d'un PC de jeu haut de gamme.

Le fabricant Comino nous a envoyé la station de travail GRANDO RM V2-S pour notre évaluation. L'ensemble du système a été emballé dans une caisse en bois robuste avec beaucoup de rembourrage, de sorte que le système arrive sans dommage. En particulier pour les PC prêts à l'emploi qui sont également équipés d'un système de refroidissement par eau, un emballage sûr et stable est indispensable. Comino a déjà fait tout ce qu'il fallait. Mais passons maintenant au système lui-même. Il est équipé d'unAMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WXavec un total de 32 cœurs de processeur et de threads. Ainsi, ce processeur est actuellement le deuxième processeur AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro le plus rapide d'AMD. Dans cette configuration, Comino installe 4 cartes graphiques Nvidia RTX A60004x NVIDIA RTX A6000 Grafikkarte - Benchmarks und Spezifikationen. Chacune dispose de 48 Go de VRAM, ce qui est deux fois plus important que celui d'une Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. Mais cela ne suffit pas, car le 32-core est soutenu par une énorme mémoire vive de 512 Go. Il devrait être clair pour tout le monde que cette configuration n'est pas bon marché, car une Nvidia RTX A6000 coûte à elle seule environ 5 000 euros (~5 659 $). Ainsi, il n'est pas surprenant que le résultat final soit de près de 29 000 euros (~$32 824) avant taxes pour ce système.

Bancs d'essai des processeurs - 32 cœurs et 64 threads

Le siteAMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WXest un véritable monstre informatique avec ses 32 cœurs. Ce n'est que dans quelques benchmarks que le AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX se distingue dans les tests multi-cœurs. L'avantage de performance de la station de travail Comino GRANDO réside clairement dans le refroidissement intégré. Ainsi, le 32-core peut appeler la performance optimale et peut donc battre le 64-core prétendument plus rapide d'AMD. Avec ses 32 cœurs et un total de 64 threads, l'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX est parfaitement adapté à la virtualisation. La généreuse mémoire vive DDR4 ECC de 512 Go est un avantage à cet égard. Cependant, l'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX ne peut pas compter sur les avantages de l'architecture Zen3 actuelle, puisque seuls les dies Matisse, qui sont basés sur l'architecture Zen2, sont installés sous l'énorme dissipateur thermique. Cela se traduit par un retard dans les benchmarks single-core par rapport aux derniers Ryzen de la génération 5000. L'AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX est plus comparable à l'AMD Ryzen R9 3900X en termes de performance single-core.

Comino GRANDO RM V2-S dans la multi-boucle Cinebench R15

Le concept de refroidissement spécialement développé assure une bonne performance, ce que nous avons déjà vu dans les benchmarks du CPU. Mais même en cas de charge permanente, le refroidissement n'atteint pas ses limites. Ainsi, tous les scores de la boucle multiple de Cinebench R15 sont plus ou moins à égalité avec quelques fluctuations mineures. La station de travail maîtrise les 50 passages avec une moyenne de 7 121 points.

Performance des applications

Dans les benchmarks d'application, la station de travail Comino GRANDO RM V2-S peut dominer si le logiciel est également capable de récupérer les performances de toutes les cartes graphiques. Le test LuxMark montre très clairement les performances auxquelles on peut s'attendre. Dans les autres benchmarks, le nombre des quatre Nvidia RTX A6000 ne montre malheureusement pas d'avantage. Selon le test de rendu, c'est parfois Nvidia et parfois AMD qui profitent des performances.
La mémoire de masse installée de notre échantillon de test comprend 2 To et fournit des taux de transfert très rapides grâce au protocole NVMe. Nous disposions également de 512 Go de mémoire de travail DDR4, ce qui est absolument surdimensionné pour les charges de travail normales. Toute personne qui commande une telle machine avec cette quantité de mémoire de travail devrait savoir comment l'utiliser.

Performance 3D

Le fait qu'une station de travail ne doive pas être utilisée en premier lieu comme plateforme de jeu devient évident lorsque l'on examine de plus près les tests de jeu en détail. En particulier dans les deux jeux Far Cry , notre échantillon de test a de gros problèmes avec les taux d'images jouables. Les choses semblent un peu mieux dans les autres jeux que nous avons examinés, même si les performances de la Nvidia RTX A6000 sont parfois clairement derrière la Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. Comino GRANDO RM V2-S refroidit étonnamment bien

Le concept de refroidissement de la station de travail Comino GRANDO RM V2-S est unique. Les deux AMD Threadripper Pro 3975WXainsi que les quatre Nvidia RTX A6000sont refroidies par un système de refroidissement liquide spécialement développé. Très étonnant est l'utilisation d'un seul radiateur de 360 millimètres (~14,2 in). En outre, trois ventilateurs de 140 millimètres (~5,5 in) sont installés dans le boîtier afin de conduire la chaleur résiduelle hors du boîtier. Pour cela, il faut regarder de plus près la construction du boîtier, car le système ne doit pas être utilisé sans le panneau latéral monté, car sinon la pression des ventilateurs n'est pas suffisante pour forcer l'air à travers le radiateur.

Le 32-core chauffe jusqu'à un maximum de 69 °C (156,2 °F) dans le test de stress avec Prime95. Si nous lançons également FurMark, le processeur chauffe jusqu'à 73 °C (163,4 °F), même si nous notons 57 °C (134,6 °F) pour la carte graphique. Cependant, FurMark n'utilise qu'un seul GPU en charge. Différents réglages pour changer cela ont été essayés sans succès. Avec d'autres outils, il a cependant été possible de charger toutes les cartes graphiques en même temps pour vérifier si le refroidissement est capable de refroidir tous les composants malgré l'unique radiateur. En fait, c'est possible. Cependant, les températures des cartes graphiques montent à un peu plus de 80 °C, ce qui reste bien dans la zone verte. Si l'on considère qu'il y a un total de 1 480 watts de chaleur perdue (CPU + GPU), le bilan est très bon. En ce qui concerne la conception du Comino GRANDO RM V2-S, il convient de mentionner qu'il s'agit d'un rack de 19 pouces. Ainsi, l'utilisation prévue est plutôt dans une salle de serveurs avec climatisation, ce qui devrait améliorer encore plus les températures. La température dans notre environnement de test était de 22,6 °C (~73 °F) au moment du test.

Les performances extrêmement élevées présentent également un inconvénient

La station de travail Comino GRANDO RM V2-S établit de nouveaux sommets en matière de consommation d'énergie. Même en mode veille, notre appareil de mesure indique un peu plus de 200 watts. Dès que nous démarrons Prime95, elle augmente et atteint une moyenne de 580 watts. Mais cela ne suffit pas, car il faut fournir près de 716 watts pendant les jeux. Nous avons mesuré une moyenne de 1 880 watts dans le pire des scénarios où nous chargeons le CPU et les GPU à 100%. Cependant, le maximum que les blocs d'alimentation doivent fournir est de 1 940 watts. Les blocs d'alimentation, oui, vous avez bien lu. Si vous avez déjà regardé de plus près la configuration, vous avez pu voir qu'un total de trois alimentations SFF de 750 watts chacune sont installées. Elles offrent des performances solides et il n'y a pas eu de défaillance du système due à des pics de charge trop élevés, même en cas de charge extrême
