Dans nos tests, le Dell Precision 5540 s’avère être une station de travail réussie. Le châssis est sur la même base que celui du XPS 15, et donc s’avère de même qualité, mais c’est également la raison du nombre réduit de ports. Cela dit, le Thunderbolt 3 offre une excellente polyvalence, et permet de remplacer les ports absents avec l’adaptateur approprié.

Le Dell Precision 5540 est un bon choix pour ceux qui recherchent des performances du milieu de gamme et un écran haute résolution. Comme d’habitude, le châssis est robuste et l’autonomie bonne.

Malheureusement, le processeur ne se comporte pas comme espéré. Ainsi, si la Nvidia Quadro T2000 atteint le niveau de performances attendu, le processeur n’en fait pas autant. Ses performances baissent de 15 % avant la fin de notre test en boucle. Et même si l’écran 4K OLED a belle allure, sa présence entraîne une autonomie significativement amputée.
