Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Au final, le nouveau HP 17 est un pas dans la bonne direction. A bien des égards, le grand portable multimédia de 17 pouces s’améliore sur son prédécesseur. L’USB C est toujours absent, mais le châssis légèrement amélioré laisse une bonne impression. Nous avons tout particulièrement apprécié le nouvel écran - c’est celui qui aurait dû équiper le modèle de l’an dernier, un écran qui répond aux standards actuels en termes de luminosité et d’angles de vision, mais qui nécessite un calibrage avec un spectrophotomètre (notre profil ICC est disponible ci-dessus). Les performances CPU et GPU se sont significativement améliorées, ainsi que les performances globales et la polyvalence, grâce au SSD rapide et au gros HDD. Mais toutes ces améliorations ont un prix, avec des émissions et une autonomie en retrait. Le throttling du CPU en cas de fortes sollicitations et l’autonomie mauvaise sont un peu décevants.

Le HP 17 est un portable multimédia honnête, qui vise avant tout ceux qui cherchent un grand portable peu mobile pour remplacer un ordinateur de bureau.

On retrouve l’Acer Aspire E5-774G parmi les concurrents.
