Le ProBook 470 G5 est la 6e génération des portables pro de 17,3 pouces de HP (le premier modèle était le ProBook 470 G0). Certaines des modifications effectuées par Hewlett Packard, comme l’absence de lecteur optique ou le retrait de boutons dédiés pour activer les modules de communication sans fil ou les haut-parleurs, vont contrarier certains.

Le ProBook 470 G5 est un 17,3 pouces de travail bien conçu, mais qui peut encore être amélioré.

Le portable a été conçu à la fois pour un usage personnel et professionnel. Grâce au processeur ULV quatre cœurs, il délivre de bonnes performances, et il permet même de jouer un peu grâce à la carte graphique dédié 930MX - même si nous aurions préféré une carte graphique plus puissante. Au moins l’appareil reste toujours frais et silencieux, quel que soit le niveau de sollicitations.

Les performances globales sont bonnes, grâce au SSD NVMe rapide. Et c’est très facile de le changer, grâce aux deux trappes de maintenance au-dessous. L’écran IPS FHD possède d’excellents angles de vue et une luminosité très élevée, mais son contraste est plutôt faible.

L’autonomie est excellente, ce qui rend le ProBook 470 G5 très portable. Comme ses prédécesseurs, cette dernière version du ProBook est équipée d’un très bon clavier, avec deux niveaux de rétroéclairage. La garantie est limitée à un an, au lieu des 2 ans que nous attendrions pour un tel portable premium. Nous aurions également apprécié la présence de Thunderbolt 3, plutôt que d’un USB 3.1 de 1ère génération. Il aurait été plus polyvalent, et bien plus adapté au monde professionnel.
