Courte critique du convertible Acer Nitro 5 Spin NP515 (i7-8550U, GTX 1050)

Écran à la hausse, SSD à la baisse. A l’extérieur, l’Acer Nitro 5 Spin s’identifie facilement comme étant la version de jeu de l’Acer Spin 5. Mais trouver d’autres différences entre les deux convertibles est bien difficile – il ne semble pas y en avoir au premier coup d’œil. Est-ce que le Nitro espère atteindre le statut de portable de jeu juste en ajoutant des bandes rouges sur le châssis, ou fait-il mieux que ça ? Nous l’avons mis à l’épreuve.

Après le Spin 5, Acer propose maintenant un autre convertible, qui cible cette fois les joueurs occasionnels. Cependant, mis à part de légers changements de design qui contient maintenant des éléments rouges, les autres évolutions ne sont pas évidentes. On peut noter deux grosses différences au niveau des composants, entre l’Acer Spin 5 et l’Acer Nitro 5 Spin. L’écran Chi Mei du Nitro est d’environ 100 cd/m² plus lumineux, possède de meilleurs temps de réponse, et une meilleure couverture de l’espace colorimétrique, mais il a un contraste moins élevé et des noirs moins bons que le Spin 5. De plus, Acer a choisi un SSD Micron pour le Nitro 5, le Spin 5 étant équipé d’un SSD Intel nettement plus rapide.

Il ne faudra pas faire son choix en fonction de la couleur du châssis… Mais plutôt en fonction des caractéristiques de l'écran les plus importantes pour vous, et de la vitesse du SSD. Comme nous le voyons dans les résultats de nos tests, le Nitro propose des performances globales similaires à celles du Spin 5. Les résultats des tests pour Tomb Raider, que l’on peut comparer directement, sont bons pour un convertible, grâce à la GeForce GTX 1050 : jouer n’est pas un problème avec ce 2-en-1.

Nous nous attendions à un peu plus qu’un clavier "ZQSD" rouge pour la version de jeu de ce portable. Acer aurait pu modifier plus de choses entre le Nitro 5 et le Spin 5 classique, comme ajouter un port Ethernet ou améliorer le système de refroidissement.

Une alternative performante peut se trouver avec l’Asus ZenBook Flip 15, qui est également équipé d’une Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050, même si elle n’a que 2 Go de VRAM. Il propose le même niveau de performances en jeu que le Nitro d’Acer, comme on peut le voir avec Tomb Raider. Ses performances globales sont moins bonnes que celles de l’Acer Nitro, mais ses résultats sont meilleurs dans Cinebench. Et l’intégration d’un écran 4K signifie que le modèle Asus consomme plus, et possède moins d’autonomie (25 %) que l’appareil d’Acer. En fonction du prix auquel vous pourrez trouver les appareils, il faudra choisir lequel des deux possède le meilleur rapport qualité / prix.
