Le dernier Pavilion 17 est un croisement entre ordinateur portable multimédia et ordinateur portable de jeu. Il est plus puissant que le laisse supposer sa conception plastique modeste, et plutôt portable vu la taille de son écran. Ce PC est une bonne solution pour ceux qui veulent un grand écran et une carte Nvidia GTX, sans trop compromettre le poids.

Au-delà de la partie graphique, il s’agit d’un portable réduit à l’essentiel. Le système manque d’options de connectivité et de fonctionnalités haut-de-gamme comme on peut en trouver sur d’autres portables de jeux, tels le G-SYnc ou un caisson de basse, et ne possède même pas d’USB Type-C ni de NVMe, que l’on peut pourtant trouver sur des ultrabooks. Le ventilateur est bruyant, même pour un portable pour joueur, en partie à cause de ses composants puissants dans un châssis relativement fin, avec une ventilation unique. Nous ne conseillons le Pavilion 17 et son GPU GTX Nvidia 960M que si sa taille d’écran, sa portabilité, son prix et la puissance graphique sont prioritaires sur les fonctionnalités supplémentaires, la maintenabilité et le bruit.
