Samsung Galaxy S26

Samsung Galaxy S26
ⓘ Daniel Schmidt

70% Samsung Galaxy S26 & S26+ review: As good as the S25?
Source: Hardware Zone Anglais EN→FR
Last year, we said it didn’t matter if the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ were boring, as long as they were good. That has changed. Samsung has seen fit to raise prices on these phones with no obvious improvement to their predecessor. This does a disservice to an otherwise excellent and stable Galaxy S series, because it makes it hard for us to tell people why they should buy a Galaxy S26 or S26+ over the previous models. Yes, this year’s phones are very good, if not one of the best options for flagship phones, but we also have to be prudent and judicious when recommending new and shiny things to people. The change to Samsung’s own processor did not yield extraordinary gains over established flagship chips like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. This also hurts the two phones’ value proposition when the obvious mass market details like displays, cameras, and battery uptimes are largely similar year-on-year.

80% Samsung Galaxy S26 vs. S26+ vs. S26 Ultra: Which Samsung Flagship Is Right for You?
Source: PC Mag Anglais EN→FR
Your phone needs to work for you, not someone else, so be sure to pick a model that suits your needs: If you want the Galaxy with the most storage, only the Galaxy S26 Ultra offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. If you want a smaller, more pocketable phone, the Galaxy S26 is the way to go. If you want a big phone but don’t care about the S Pen, the Galaxy S26+ could be for you. As always, your budget and network availability should inform your decision-making. Apart from the camera and the option for more storage offered by the Ultra, the three phones perform nearly the same across the board. In other words, you really can't go wrong.

While many people choose their phone based on the operating system or broader ecosystem, some choose based on hardware features. However, consider the following when choosing: If you have an older device like a Samsung Galaxy S20 or iPhone 13, any of these devices will be a terrific upgrade. If you want the most storage possible, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is the only phone that comes with 2TB. If the Privacy Display wows you, only the S26 Ultra has it. If battery life is paramount, the iPhones outlast the Galaxy phones by 9 or more hours.

There's a lot to consider here. Each family of devices has its pros and cons. Even more confusing, the individual selections within the Pixel 10 lineup and Galaxy S26 family compete with one another. If you love multitasking or want your phone to double as a full computer, the Galaxy S26 is the way to go. If you want every new Android feature—including AI—as soon as possible, pick a Pixel. If you love magnetic charging, the Pixel 10 series has it. You’d need a case for the S26 series for the same function. If you love funky new tech, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the only phone with a built-in Privacy Display.

70% I spent two weeks with the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus — and only one is worth buying
Source: Android Authority Anglais EN→FR
I don’t think either the Galaxy S26 or the S26 Plus is particularly impressive. These are effectively the same phones as last year, which were the same phones as the year before that, and so on. However, while we can usually recommend both the base and Plus models for committed Samsung fans, I don’t think that’s true with the S26 series. If you like Samsung phones and desperately need an upgrade, the base model Galaxy S26 is a fine choice. It has the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip as the other two more expensive S26 models, the same cameras as the S26 Plus, and comes in a much more comfortable, pocketable form factor than its two larger siblings. As you might have heard, the S26 is more expensive this year, but it also comes with double the storage — 256GB instead of 128GB. That’s $100 more than the 128GB Galaxy S25 and $40 more expensive than the 256GB version. It’s not ideal, but it could have been a lot worse. It could have been like the Galaxy S26 Plus. Samsung’s Plus model has always been the awkward middle child of the Galaxy S family, and this year, it simply doesn’t make any sense at all. There’s no storage upgrade like the S26 benefits from, but the S26 Plus is still more expensive. The 256GB model sees a $100 price increase to $1,100, while the 512GB variant was hit with a whopping $180 price increase to $1,300.

74% Samsung Galaxy S26 review: This phone is almost perfect… almost
Source: Digit.in Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 has not reinvented anything, but as I mentioned at the beginning, it is extremely refined. After using it for more than two weeks, I am happy to report that the Galaxy S26 offers a solid user experience and is quite dependable. It gets almost everything right without trying too hard. Of course, the phone’s greatest KSP has to be its compact form factor. But even the other things, like the display, are excellent, and the performance should be strong enough for most users. Yes, there are compromises for sure, like the battery life may not be class leading, or the charging may not be the fastest. But if you want a compact flagship (mind you, there are only a handful of them) that delivers a premium experience without going into Ultra territory, the Galaxy S26 is a great option to consider. At Rs 87,999, it may not be perfect, but it is polished, capable and dependable in all the ways that actually matter.

90% Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ review: Familiar flagship experience
Source: Tech2.in.com Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ may not be the most exciting upgrades, but they quietly get almost everything right. They are fast, reliable, and polished in a way that makes everyday use feel effortless. Yes, the lack of major upgrades and the price hike can feel a bit disappointing, especially if you are coming from last year’s models. But if you are upgrading from an older device, both phones still deliver a solid flagship experience without any real compromises. Choosing between the two ultimately comes down to your preference. If you want a compact, easy-to-handle phone that fits seamlessly into your daily routine, the Galaxy S26 is the one to go for. But if your usage leans more towards gaming, streaming, and immersive viewing, the Galaxy S26+ with its larger display makes a stronger case. That said, there is one more thing to consider. At Rs 1,19,999, the Galaxy S26+ sits uncomfortably close to the Ultra. And at that point, stretching your budget a little further might actually get you a more feature-packed device.

80% Samsung Galaxy S26 review: Frustratingly unrivalled
Source: Expert Reviews Anglais EN→FR
For all of my complaints regarding the lack of improvements, the Samsung Galaxy S26 is still a very good phone. On a graph measuring performance prowess against diminutive build, no other phone nails the balance like this. It’s not the best value for money, especially with the retirement of the entry-level 128GB model, and anyone looking to hit most of the key points achieved here may want to consider hopping the fence and spending less on an iPhone 17 – or settling for weaker battery life with the otherwise excellent Google Pixel 10. Otherwise, Samsung has this particular niche completely cornered, and it knows it. The lack of upgrades irks me, but it doesn’t change the fact that, for anyone seeking plenty of power in a compact frame, there’s nothing that I’d recommend over the Galaxy S26.

Source: Tech Advisor Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S26 is a reliably excellent phone dressed in a genuinely beautiful body. Its night photography is particularly impressive; the display – while not class-leading – is more than capable for everyday use; and the Horizontal Lock video mode is one of those features that sounds gimmicky until you use it. With a few more refinements, the lower-end device could really be something that blows users away. Unfortunately, Samsung just isn’t quite there yet – so while there might not be a reason for anyone to take the leap from last year’s phone, those moving from an S23 or older will feel the improvements in battery life, camera performance, and processing power.

At Rs 87,999, the Galaxy S26 carries forward a lot from its predecessor, with a few noticeable refinements. 83% Samsung Galaxy S26 review: well-rounded compact flagship
Source: 91mobiles Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 stays true to Samsung’s formula for a compact flagship, delivering a refined design, one of the best displays in the segment, smooth performance, and a highly customisable software experience backed by long-term updates. It’s a phone that gets the basics right and feels polished in everyday use, especially for those who prefer a smaller, easy-to-handle device without compromising on core flagship features. Battery life is decent for regular usage, but maybe not for power users. The cameras also perform well and offer a balanced experience across scenarios. If battery life and faster charging are priorities, options like the Xiaomi 17 (review) and Vivo X300 (review) could be considered. That said, the Galaxy S26 still holds its ground as a well-rounded compact flagship. If you value a sleek, lightweight design, a top-tier display, reliable performance, and a clean, feature-rich software experience with long-term support, it remains a compelling choice.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Review: Minor Tweaks To A Winning Formula
Source: BGR Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are excellent phones. There's no way around the fact that they're iterative — Samsung hasn't reinvented the wheel here, and last year's owners have very little reason to upgrade. But judged on their own merits, these are fast, capable, well-constructed smartphones with outstanding cameras, gorgeous displays, and solid battery life. The gains in processing power and image processing aren't groundbreaking, but they add up to a noticeably more refined experience overall.

Samsung Galaxy S26 review: Refined and reliable flagship, but plays it safe
Source: Business Standard Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 makes sense if you’re looking for a compact flagship that feels comfortable to use every day. It also works well if you value a polished software experience over raw specifications, and especially if you plan to use your phone for several years, thanks to Samsung’s long-term update support. That said, it may not be the right pick if you’re looking for cutting-edge camera hardware or if battery life and charging speeds are your top priorities. It also doesn’t stand out as the best value option. Overall, the Galaxy S26 proves that a phone doesn’t need big changes to stay relevant, but its safe approach can make it feel less compelling in a fast-moving market.

80% Samsung Galaxy S26 review: why isn’t this compact Android all-rounder more exciting?
Source: Stuff TV Anglais EN→FR
Depending on where you live in the world, the Galaxy S26 will either be an obvious compact Android pick or something of an also-ran. US shoppers must essentially pick between this or the Google Pixel 10 Pro, and aren’t saddled with an inferior chipset. While Samsung has closed the gap with this year’s Exynos silicon, European buyers are still getting the lesser device. The rest of the world is also much better served for smaller screen flagships. The Xiaomi 17 has Samsung embarrassed on battery life and has a superior rear camera setup, while China and India have the upcoming OnePlus 15T to look forward to. This is still a powerful handset with consistent cameras and day-long battery life – just about. It looks the part and has a stunning screen. I also can’t argue that Samsung’s Android interface is as fully-featured as they come. But it’s being left behind on multiple fronts by the competition, while asking for more of your cash than ever. If OneUI on a smaller screen is a must, you’ll definitely want to hold out for a discounted network carrier contract deal.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ are predictably great, but is that good enough?
Source: CNN underscored Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 and S26+ are easily some of the best Android phones you can buy. They’re faster and longer-lasting than almost anything in their price range, and their displays and designs remain some of the slickest around. The S26+ is particularly compelling, as you’re getting a fantastic 6.7-inch screen for a little less than the price of other big phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Samsung’s own Galaxy S26 Ultra. But with these phones now starting at $900 for the S26 and $1,100 for the S26+, the math gets a little trickier.

Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are another careful and exclusively evolutionary update of the line. These are traditional modern successful flagships with high-quality screens, top performance, a universal set of cameras that shoot well, a user-friendly interface with the prospect of major updates in the next 8 years, a classic pleasant design and protection of the case from dirt and water according to the IP68 standard. Of the technical complaints, the only thing that can be noted is the heating of the Exynos 2600 under prolonged loads (which will be noticeable only to gamers) and the lack of autofocus in the ultra-wide-angle camera.

74% Galaxy S26 Review: a battery boost for the super-light AI phone
Source: Phone Arena Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 might not be a big upgrade, but it remains an easy recommendation. There are only a small handful of great compact phones, and the two main rivals are neither as light nor as compact as the Galaxy. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro are both thicker phones with a more substantial weight. The light weight, however, is a trade-off for a camera system that is not quite as powerful. The telephoto camera in particular feels much less capable than rivals. I also wish we had support for 45W fast charging and MagSafe, two conveniences that matter a lot in daily use. And if we have to pay more, I also expect at least some form of anti-reflective coating on the screen. The latter strangely remains a Galaxy Ultra exclusive. On the plus side, Samsung continues improving One UI and making AI feel a bit more useful every year. The AI photo editing capabilities built right into the Gallery app are the best I've used, and the reliability of Samsung's software is a big highlight.

80% Samsung Galaxy S26 Review: A Reliable Flagship That Plays It Safe
Source: PC Mag Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S26 is an excellent phone that makes the most sense if you're shopping based on size or price. It's the smallest and most affordable of the Galaxy S26 series, which may be all you need to know. On a feature-for-feature basis, it's a definite downgrade from the S26 Ultra and S26+, which have a richer set of specs and capabilities. Even so, for $900, you gain a fine piece of hardware with a superb screen, fast performance, decent-enough battery life, and top-notch cameras. If size and cost matter most, it's a compelling choice among Android phones. If you have a few more bucks to spend and don't mind the increase in size, the S26+ and S26 Ultra, our Editors' Choice, make even more sense thanks to their broader capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy S26 vs Apple iPhone 17 Pro: Main differences
Source: Phone Arena Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 is an important device for Samsung, as it will have to battle both the affordable iPhone 17 and the more premium iPhone 17 Pro at the same time. The pressure is very high, as Apple did many things right with the iPhone 17 launch, throwing the ball back in Samsung's court with a smirk. The iPhone 17 Pro, on the other hand, is awkwardly the least talked about new iPhone. The iPhone Air got all the talk due to its super-thin design. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is traditionally the best iPhone this year, and the regular iPhone 17 finally became a very complete and lucrative package after scoring ProMotion for the first time.

80% I’ve been testing the Galaxy S26 for a week — here’s what I like (and don’t like)
Source: Tom's Guide Anglais EN→FR
If you’re like me and prefer to avoid the massive footprint of top-of-the-line flagships, the Galaxy S26 packs heavyweight power into a lightweight, easy-to-carry form factor. Upgrades like the larger (and brighter) display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and new Galaxy AI features certainly help make it a competent device I’d feel confident using as my daily driver — but that $100 price increase makes it a less attractive option. There's no denying it offers a well-rounded package, but the new $899 starting price makes it a tough recommendation when the OnePlus 15 sits at the same price point, and the iPhone 17 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro are only $100 more at $999.

80% Samsung Galaxy S26 review: The smartphone status quo
Source: Engadget Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 is a solid phone, with upgraded battery capacity and more base storage. Whether you get the Exynos or the Snapdragon S26, there's fortunately no performance gulf as has happened in the past. However, the shorter battery life is a disappointing discovery from Samsung's first 2nm chip. For Samsung's smallest flagships over the last three years, it's all been very samey. Is the company now focused on its true flagship Ultra phone and foldables to generate buzz and make things exciting? That's what it feels like. There's nothing wrong with this safe, solid Android phone, but you could pick up last year's S25 and get an experience that's 99 percent the same for $99 less.

It would be unfair not to highlight Samsung's efforts to optimize for the existing hardware. Compared to last year's Galaxy S25, there are certainly some improvements. We see a notable gain in battery life, a tad faster charging, and a bunch of new AI and video recording features that may sound enticing enough to the right crowd. On the other hand, it's becoming increasingly hard for Samsung to sugar-coat the minor upgrades offered by the new generation. The Galaxy S26 still feels like the flagship underdog next to the Plus and Ultra.

80% Samsung Galaxy S26 Review
Source: Trusted Reviews Anglais EN→FR
In the end, I’m a little torn with the Galaxy S26. There’s no doubt to me that if you want a flagship phone that’s thin and light, with solid performance and a decent camera experience, the Galaxy S26 is probably still the best all-rounder. But then there’s that realisation that it’s because there’s very little competition for it. Pixel phones are thicker, with less powerful processors and smaller displays, while the regular iPhone has a more limited camera system. Beyond those two, there’s not much in the way of competition for the S26, and so Samsung can keep on with the incremental upgrades without going all-out to compete, safe in the knowledge that, despite the fact it could be better, it doesn’t need to be.

80% Samsung Galaxy S26 Review: Fun AI Tricks for a Steeper Price
Source: CNet Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 follows Samsung's strategy of annoyingly withholding improvements other flagship phones got years ago to differentiate its lineup. Yet if you can stomach the slower charging speed and smaller battery capacity, the phone's software and AI tricks make it a standout flagship for 2026. The big question is price, and for better or worse, Samsung is the guinea pig of rising prices this year. The $900 price tag for a baseline flagship is steep, but that will likely only age better throughout 2026 as more phones are expected to get more expensive due to the RAM shortage. And let's be honest: Samsung and US carriers love tons of trade-in and discount deals, which will mitigate the price hike to some degree.

Samsung's Galaxy S26 is a phone that scores some important upgrades, like a larger screen, a bigger battery, and faster chipsets, which are all key upgrades. These certainly make the Galaxy S26 a pretty intriguing device that will carry the Galaxy lineup forward. One downside of all these improvements is the price, which now starts at $899. Meanwhile, the Pixel has been out for a couple of months already, and it's aimed at purists that enjoy pure Android and Google's AI advances more.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Review | Small Phone, Big Problems?
Source: Tech Spurt Anglais
I love a mini mobile, so I really hoped that the Samsung Galaxy S26 would be a strong rival to the Pixel 10 Pro and Xiaomi 17. However, the camera setup hasn't changed, and while night photography has improved, this phone often struggles with living subjects. Gamers will get hours of play time out of this thing, as long as the battery lasts - but that's the other problem with the Samsung S26. I struggled to make it through a full day on a single battery charge, even if I was pretty careful with the camera etc. So overall, the Xiaomi 17 is my favourite compact handset released in 2026.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Specifications, Pros and Cons
Source: OI Spice Tech News Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S26 was announced on February 25, 2026, and it is expected to go on sale starting March 6, 2026. Samsung continues its premium flagship approach with a compact yet powerful design. The phone features a 6.3-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a 1080 × 2340 resolution, around 411 ppi pixel density, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+ and can reach up to 2600 nits peak brightness, which should make the screen clear even in bright outdoor conditions. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the phone itself uses a glass front and back with an Armor Aluminum 2 frame, giving it a durable and premium feel. With a 167 g weight and a 7.2 mm slim body, the Galaxy S26 should be comfortable to hold and easy to use with one hand. It also carries an IP68 rating, meaning it can handle dust and water exposure without problems. Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 is built for flagship-level performance. Depending on the region, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset (US and China) or the Exynos 2600 processor in other markets. Both are advanced chips designed for strong performance, efficient power use, and improved AI capabilities.

While all three of the new Galaxy S26 phones are excellent, the S26 Ultra is the standout. It’s the most expensive of the range, though oddly, it has had a smaller price increase than the others. Its multiple cameras, super-fast processor and unique Privacy Display are the standouts and make it the leading Android phone from any brand. While the smaller, more affordable S26 and S26 Plus lack some of these standouts, they are beautifully designed and effective, with strong performance, including for Samsung’s latest AI features.

Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus hands-on: smarter cameras despite no hardware upgrades

The Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus are modest upgrades to the series, bringing back the same camera hardware as the S25 and S25 Plus, while upgrading night video, adding APV codec support, and including some smart creative AI editing and productivity tools. The main hardware change this year is the processor, making the pair a likely safe bet without being a compelling upgrade for S24 or S25 owners.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Series Review: Lots of AI, Small Hardware Revolution
Source: Nextpit EN Anglais EN→FR
The Galaxy S26 series is not a radical new start. The design and camera continue to develop cautiously, but there are no real hardware revolutions. Instead, Samsung is clearly shifting the focus towards AI, display technology, and system integration. The Ultra remains the most exciting model – primarily because of the display and the new AI functions. At the same time, the S26 and S26+ also benefit from the new software approach. Anyone expecting a classic hardware upgrade may be disappointed. Those who want to see where smartphones are heading as personal assistance systems will get a very interesting outlook here. The detailed test will show whether this is enough to hold its own against the increasingly strong competition from China, and we are also expecting one or two other innovations around the MWC in Barcelona.

Source: Canbuyornot Anglais EN→FR
The new Samsung Galaxy S26 phones — the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra — mostly resemble the previous versions. The design, for one, is largely the same. Like most mainstream phones, the S26 phones come with rounded corners and flat sides. The easier way to distinguish the S26 from last year's models is to look at the rear cameras. If they are on a camera plateau, it's the S26 series. The bezels are also thinner in the S26 phones, but that's more difficult to tell without a side-by-side comparison.

Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus hands-on: Better, but not $100 better
Source: Tom's Guide Anglais EN→FR
Unlike the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which has seen a number of meaningful hardware changes, the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus have to rely more on Samsung's new AI features to differentiate themselves from the phones that came before, plus a small increase in display and battery size for the basic S26. I would add the new chipsets as a plus point as well, but we don't know yet whether the Exynos 2600 will match up to (or perhaps even beat) the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. This lack of upgrades perhaps makes for a higher threshold to clear for these phones to be worthy replacements of what you're already using. That said, these two phones still seem like worthy opponents for the Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, or the iPhone 17.

It's clear that Samsung is betting big on AI once again. Right now, the most sophisticated, and arguably the most useful, AI features are the ones found in One UI. Samsung’s latest Galaxy flagships deliver incremental updates, but perhaps that’s to be expected considering the current economic landscape. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Screen is a truly innovative feature and a welcome addition that comes without a price increase. And while the Galaxy S26 costs $100 more than its predecessor, it features double the storage, a marginally bigger display, and a slightly larger battery, so it's easy to justify.

Having just applauded the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra for not feeling stagnant, I can’t say the same about the other two S models. There are nips and tucks here and there, and the end results still feel polished, but there isn’t much that feels like it warrants an upgrade. Less still considering the price increases. I may end up being pleasantly surprised when I get them both in for testing – Samsung is a dab hand at smartphone production after all, and even its humblest models tend to deliver brilliant results in some form or another, but as things stand right now, I’m not hugely impressed. We’ll be putting both through our rigorous testing process soon enough, so be sure to check back in to find out what our final verdict is on the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus.
