Son poids en euros... Un autre poids plume Swift est arrivé en test, et va devoir démontrer qu’il fait bien moins de compromis que son prédécesseur. Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.

Nous devons complimenter Acer pour avoir accepté les critiques, et y avoir répondu. Le fabricant a changé de nombreuses choses là où il fallait, et le résultat est impressionnant.

Avant tout, Acer réussit enfin à bien gérer les performances. Notre modèle est capable de se maintenir au niveau de la concurrence - à l’inverse de son prédécesseur, dont le throttling était élevé. Nous sommes également convaincus par l’écran qui est enfin plus lumineux et qui possède une surface matte. La luminosité accrue n’impacte pas le contraste, qui a également progressé. Un autre point positif est le retour à une plus grosse batterie, et donc à une meilleure autonomie. Nous avons également été surpris par le bon SSD et les performances globales et 3D, qui peuvent surpasser les concurrents équipés des anciennes puces Intel UHD Graphics. Le Wifi plus rapide et l’intégration du Thunderbolt 3 complètent cette liste des points positifs.

Il n’y a pas grand-chose à critiquer sur ce dernier Swift 5. Le port USB 2.0 aurait pu être passé à une norme plus récente, et le lecteur de carte est à nouveau absent. La sélection des ports est également plus limitée que sur les autres ultrabooks. Nous devons également signaler que la RAM est soudée, ce qui signifie qu’elle ne peut être échangée ou agrandie. La consommation a augmenté, ce qui signifie que l’autonomie est au mieux moyenne, malgré la plus grosse batterie. Les performances ont été améliorées, mais l’appareil ne parvient toujours pas à exploiter totalement son processeur. Mais cela est sans doute le prix à payer pour obtenir un tel compromis entre les performances et le refroidissement, qui est plutôt bien équilibré sur le Swift 5.

De nombreux bons points, et presque rien à critique pour le nouveau Swift 5. L’ultrabook de 14 pouces est compact et léger, possède un bon écran tactile, et s’avère performant. Il semble être une mise à jour réussie à tous les niveaux de son prédécesseur.

Vu ces résultats, nous pouvons recommander le nouvel Acer, qui est actuellement vendu dans les 900 $.
