Test de l'Asus ROG Phone 2 : écran 120 Hz et air triggers améliorés

Gonflé. Asus a fait des améliorations significatives au ROG Phone, apparu en 2018 : l’écran passe de 90 à 120 Hz, la RAM de 8 à 12 Go et, bien sûr, nous avons un SoC tout nouveau. Nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir jouer à quelques jeux dessus, et sommes ravis de faire quelques retours. Cependant, si vous planifiez de l’utiliser pour autre chose que des jeux, à savoir pour passer des appels téléphoniques, naviguer sur le web, rédiger des emails, etc. alors ses 240 g pourraient vite s’avérer difficiles à oublier…

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.
Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) décelé 510.2 Hz ≤ 99 Niveau de luminosité

Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 510.2 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 99 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 510.2 Hz est élevée, la grande majorité des utilisateurs ne devrait pas percevoir de scintillements et être sujette à une fatigue oculaire accrue.

En comparaison, 51 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 13573 (minimum : 43 - maximum : 2500000) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

Le temps de réponse d'un écran mesure la rapidité à laquelle l'écran est capable de changer une couleur pour une autre. Un temps de réponse élevé se traduit par une image floutée pour les objets en mouvement. Les joueurs bénéficieront de faibles latences d'affichage en jeu.

Asus combine ici des composants très puissants avec une partie logicielle très bien optimisée. Les futurs smartphones avec le Snapdragon 855+ n’auront certainement pas 12 Go de RAM, ni le même niveau de gestion de la puissance.

Le smartphone de jeu est un appareil efficace.

La version Elite, avec refroidissement, coûte 899 $. Il y a des alternatives moins chères, mais moins puissantes, telles que le Strix Edition, ou le Black Shark 2.

Si vous n’êtes pas intéressés par le jeu, alors il devient difficile de justifier le poids élevé de l’appareil. Et le smartphone n’a pas de certification IP, et ses appareils photo ne font pas partie des meilleurs.
