Verdict - Trop lent pour son prix
C'est en soi une bonne idée de proposer un grand PC portable multimédia sans carte graphique dédiée. Tous les clients ne souhaitent pas jouer, si bien qu'ils peuvent économiser sans avoir de GPU. Cependant, l'actuel Dell XPS 17 9700 a deux problèmes majeurs. Le fabricant ne propose de CPU Ryzen d'AMD, si bien que Dell est limité aux processeur Comet Lake d'Intel avec l'ancienne puce graphique intégrée, et que les performances ne sont donc pas à la hauteur.
L'autre gros problème est le prix. Bien sûr, le châssis est bon, mais les performances sont insuffisantes pour le prix de presque 2000 €. La situation changera peut-être avec les futurs processeurs Intel, mais pour l'instant nous ne pouvons pas recommander la version de base du XPS 17 9700.
A cause des limitations des processeurs Intel, les performances (surtout graphiques) ne sont pas compétitives. Vu son prix, nous ne pouvons donc pas recommander le nouvel XPS 17 9700 de base.
L'écran mat FHD est bon. Il fait bonne impression, et sa luminosité peut être très élevée. Grâce à la couverture totale sRVB et aux couleurs très fidèles, il est possible de l'utiliser pour l'édition photo / vidéo. Il est aussi bien plus efficient que les écrans tactiles 4K, si bien que l'autonomie est largement meilleure. Mais il est dommage que Dell ne propose pas dans certaines régions l'écran mat FHD avec les CPU et GPU les plus puissants.
