Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Le Redmi 8, qui est très proche du Redmi 8A sur le papier, est une mise à niveau significative de son aîné, bien qu’il en soit, visuellement aussi, presque identique. Il améliore non seulement les appareils photo et le haut-parleur, mais également la connectivité et l’écran. Dans l’ensemble, alors que nous avions recommandé le Redmi 8A lors de notre test, le Redmi 8 offre un rapport qualité / prix encore meilleur. En bref, le dernier appareil Redmi à petit prix de Xiaomi impose de nouveaux standards pour les smartphones à moins de 120 €, avant tout parce qu’il ne possède pas de grosses faiblesses.

Xiaomi a néanmoins fait des compromis, ce qui est peu surprenant vu le prix du smartphone. Le Redmi 8 est, et restera, un smartphone d’entrée de gamme. De ce fait, Xiaomi a équipé l’appareil d’un SoC peu puissant, d’un écran à faible résolution, de stockage flash eMMC, et d’un module Wifi lent. Pour seulement 30 € de plus, le Redmi Note 8 est une alternative séduisante, qui possède de bien meilleures performances, et pas vraiment plus de défauts.

Le Xiaomi Redmi 8 fait mieux que la plupart des smartphones à moins de 120 €. Si le prix est le facteur bloquant pour votre prochain smartphone, alors le Redmi 8 pourrait être une bonne option.
