Courte critique du convertible Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga (i5-8250U, FHD)

Le retour du Yoga. Le ThinkPad X380 Yoga revient sur le devant de la scène, avec cette fois un processeur moins puissant. Malgré la baisse de la fréquence, la variante i5 peine toujours en cas de grosses sollicitations. Cela en fait un bon appareil, malgré quelques faiblesses.

Le X380 Yoga de Lenovo avait eu de bons résultats dans notre premier test, malgré quelques faiblesses. Alors que le Core i7-8550U possède sur le papier une fréquence supérieure de 18 % à celle du Core i5-8250U, il s’était avéré être trop exigeant pour le X380 Yoga. Le 8250U semble être plus adapté à l’appareil dans la plupart des tâches : il est excellent dans presque tous les domaines, excepté pour les performances CPU de long terme. Le châssis est robuste, la sélection des ports excellente, et les charnières durables et le clavier rétractables rendent le mode tablette confortable.

Comme appareil pro, le X380 est excellent. Le ThinkPad Yoga de Lenovo a toujours été au sommet pour les professionnels à la recherche d’un convertible robuste. Mais les concurrents ont amélioré leurs machines, et surpassent même Lenovo dans certains domaines. Le Spectre x360 13 de HP est une magnifique machine qui ne souffre pas du throttling exagéré du X380 Yoga, le Latitude 7390 de Dell possède deux emplacements de stockage tout en étant compact, et le Surface Book 2 de Microsoft possède une puissance hors-normes pour un convertible, et surpasse largement ses concurrents dans les tâches graphiquement exigeantes.

Cela dit, tous ces appareils possèdent également leurs points faibles. Le Spectre x360 possède une connectivité limitée, l’écran du Latitude 7390 est mauvais et très sensible aux reflets, et le prix du Surface Book 2 est prohibitif. Le X380 est une machine plutôt équilibrée avec un prix raisonnable, et s’avère très pratique.

Le X380 Yoga, et en particulier sa version Core i5-8250U, est peut-être le meilleur convertible compact pour les pros. Alors qu’il possède quelques défauts, l’ensemble allie un châssis robuste avec une excellente connectivité, ainsi qu’une excellente autonomie et un écran aux couleurs fidèles. Les convertible pros peuvent couvrir certains domaines encore mieux, mais le X380 Yoga paraît plus équilibré, n’ayant pas de grosse lacune.
