Le Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 était le plus puissant des dual cores à sa sortie. Puis dépassé par le Core 2 Duo T9900 / X9100. Le T9800 est très bon dans les jeux moins récents.

Avec sa fréquence élevée, le T9800 est assez puissant pour les applications récentes (en 2009). Il n'y a que peu de concurrence pour ce processeur.

Le T9800 est un Penryn (mise à jour Montevina) avec 2 unités intégrées, 1 unité de calcul à virgule flottante, 1 unité de chargement, et 1 store unit avec un pipeline à 14 étapes. Grâce au Wide Dynamic Execution Technology, qui permet l'usage de 4 coeurs.

Le Enhanced Speedstep baisse la fréquence de 800 MHz pour économiser du courant.

Le Core 2 Duo T9800 est installable sur les Socket P à 479 broches: Socket P / Micro Flip-Chip Pin Grid Array (Micro-FCPGA) avec 479-broches avec le Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket (mPGA479M socket) ou Micro Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (Micro-FCBGA).

Critique du mySN MG6(Compal HLB2)

Une affaire pour les joueurs. ATI a marqué un essai avec sa série des 4600. Des bonnes performances pour pas cher en début de gamme. Le revendeur allemand Schenker Notebooks est au fron et nous a prété ce 15.6 pouces basé sur le barebone Compal HLB avec le MG6. On a jeté un oeil sur la ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 et le CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 cadencé à 2.9 GHz.
