Intel 2328M

L'Intel Core i3-2328M est un processeur dual-core mobile. Il est basé sur l'architecture Sandy Bridge. Avec l'Hyperthreading, les deux cœurs peuvent s'occuper de 4 tâches en parallèle ce qui mène à une meilleure utilisation du CPU. Chaque cœur offre une fréquence de base de 2.2 GHz : face aux Core i5 plus rapides, les i3 n'offrent pas de support de la technologie Turbo Boost. Comparé au Core i3-2310M, le 2328M n'offre qu'un gain de seulement 100 MHz. Le processeur est similaire au Core i3-2330M mais sans le support des outils Intel Small Business comme USB blocker, PC health check, data backup et Wireless Display

Sandy Bridge est le successeur de l'architecture Arrandale. Les améliorations les plus visibles sont les instructions 256Bit AVX, le Turbo Boost 2.0 (désactivé sur le Core i3-2328M) et l'intégration d'une puce graphique directement dans le die de 32nm.

Le Core i3-2348M possède un circuit graphique intégré (Intel HD Graphics 3000) bien plus véloce que l'Intel HD Graphics des processeurs Arrandale. La puce graphique étant dorénavant inclus dans le die du processeur, elle est elle aussi gravée avec une finesse de 32nm et partage le cache de niveau 3 L3 avec le processeur (via un nouveau bus). Dans le i3-2348M, la puce est cadencée entre 650 et 1150MHz (fréquence Turbo Boost). Les modèles les plus véloces des Sandy Bridge voient cette fréquence Turbo portée à 1300 MHz (comme sur le Core i5-2520M).

Par ailleurs, un nouveau contrôleur mémoire DDR3 est inclus dans le die du processeur. Son utilisation est ainsi partagée entre le processeur et la partie graphique.

Du fait d'une architecture améliorée, les performances en moyenne du Core i3-2348M sont supérieures à celles d'un Core i3 Arrandale (lui aussi dépourvu de Turbo Boost). Dans les tests synthétiques, les performances s'avèrent identiques voire meilleures que le Core i3-380M pourtant cadencé plus haut (2.53 GHz). Le processeur est donc capable dans tous les scénarios.

Le Core i5-2348M est annoncé avec un TDP de 35 Watts en comprenant la carte graphique et le contrôleur mémoire.
