AMD A4-5000

Le AMD A4-5000 est un quad-core SoC mobile pour portables bas de gamme, qui a été présenté à la mi 2013. En plus des quatre cœur avec une fréquence de 1.5 GHz (pas de Turbo), la puce gravée en 28nm intègre aussi une Radeon HD 8330, un contrôleur mémoire single channel DDR3(L)-1600 et un Southbridge avec de nombreuses entrées/sorties.

Architecture

Kabini (pour portable) et Temash (tablettes et petites portables) sont basés sur la nouvelle architecture AMD: Jaguar, qui remplace Bobcat (ex: le E-350). Selon AMD, les performances par mégahertz ont augmenté d'environ 15 %. De plus, de nombreuses instructions modernes tels que le SSE version 4.2, AVX et AES sont maintenant supportés. La gravure plus fine à 28nm de chez TSMC permet de voltage plus bas et avec des fréquences plus élevées que Bobcat, ainsi que 4 cœurs de CPU (Bobcat: 2 cores).

Performances

Ave la fréquence très basse de 1.5 GHz, les performances dans les applications qui ne profitent pas de plusieurs processeurs sont assez modeste et donc juste au-dessus de l'ancien E2-1800. Cependant si les quatre cœurs sont actifs, les performances sont égal à un processeur Sandy-Bridge, le Core i3-2377M. Pour la bureautique et les vidéos, le A4-5000 possède suffisamment de puissance ; cependant, il attendra rapidement ses limites dans les applications gourmandes et les jeux.

Graphismes

Le SoC intègre une Radeon HD 8330 Avec 128 shaders, qui est basée sur l'architecture GCN et cadencée à 500 MHz (sans Turbo). En moyenne la HD 8330 est au niveau d'une Radeon HD 7470M ou une Intel HD Graphics 4000. Les jeux récents sont à peine jouables. Mais les jeux moins gourmands seront fluides.

Consommation d'énergie

La consommation électrique du SoC tout entier est noté à 15 W. Donc le A4-5000 est un peu plus économique que ses prédécesseurs (E2-1800: 17 watts) et donc adapté aux plus petits portables.
