AMD E1-2100

L'AMD E1-2100 est un SoC dual-core mobile entrée de gamme pour ultraportables compacts et tablettes, qui a été présenté mi-2013. En plus des deux cœurs avec une fréquence de 1.0 GHz (pas de Turbo), la puce gravée en 28nm intègre aussi une Radeon HD 8210, un contrôleur mémoire simple canal DDR3L-1333 et un Southbridge avec de nombreux ports entrées/sorties.

Architecture

Kabini (pour portable) et Temash (tablettes et petites portables) sont basés sur la nouvelle architecture AMD Jaguar, qui remplace Bobcat (le E-350 par exemple). Selon AMD, les performances par mégahertz ont augmenté d'environ 20 %. De plus, de nombreuses instructions modernes tels que le SSE version 4.2, AVX et AES sont maintenant supportées. La gravure plus fine à 28nm par TSMC permet des tensions plus basses tout en ayant des fréquences plus élevées que Bobcat et ce avec 4 cœurs processeurs (Bobcat n'en avait que 2).

Performances

Avec la fréquence très basse de 1.0 GHz, les performances sont plutôt modestes et similaires à l'ancien AMD C-60. Pour la bureautique et les vidéos, le E1-2100 possède suffisamment de puissance ; cependant, il atteindra rapidement ses limites dans les applications gourmandes et les jeux.

Puce graphique

Le SoC intègre une Radeon HD 8210 avec 128 shaders, basée sur l'architecture GCN et cadencée à 300 MHz (sans Turbo). En moyenne la HD 8210 égale l'Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge). Les performances sont bien souvent limitées par le processeur. Les jeux récents (2013) sont difficilement jouables, mais les moins gourmands seront fluides.

Consommation d'énergie

La consommation électrique du SoC tout entier est évaluée à 9 W. L'E1-2100 est donc adapté aux petits ultraportables et autres netbooks.
