AMD A10-4600M

Le AMD A10-4600M est un processeur mobile quad-core basé sur l’architecture Trinity. Officiellement présenté au deuxième trimestre 2012, il est successeur direct de la série Llano A de processeurs de type APUs (Accelerated Processing Unit/ unité de calcul accéléré) et il est actuellement le processeur APU le plus rapide de la série Trinity. Cet APU est fabriqué avec une finesse de 32nm SOI avec un processeur cadencé à 2.3 GHz (jusqu’à 3.2 GHz avec Turbo Core) avec une carte graphique relativement rapide Radeon HD 7660G ainsi qu’un contrôleur mémoire Dual-Channel, des encodeurs et es décodeurs vidéo et les NorthBridge.

Les coeurs de ce processeur sont basées sur une architecture Bulldozer modifiée, nommée Piledriver. Bien qui est le label de processeurs quad-core, le A10-4600M n’inclue que deux modules avec quatre cœurs de calcul d’entiers relatifs et 2 cœurs de calculs à virgule flottante. Ce qui fait qu’en réalité, ce processeur n’est pas un véritable Quad-Core.

Comparé à la génération précédente des cœur Bulldozer, AMD a réussi à améliorer les performances IPC (instructions per clock / instructions par cycle) des coeurs Trinity tout en permettant tes fréquences plus hautes. Cependant, comparé à son prédécesseur Llano, les performances en multitâche des cœurs Trinity n’ont été que très légèrement amélioré. Les fonctions améliorées de la technologie Turbo Core 3.0 permettent augmenter les performances sur les taches qui ne demande qu’un seul cœur, bien que ce ne soit pas au même niveau de la technologie Turbo Boost de chez Intel. Il n’en reste pas moins que AMD a réussi à inclure d’autres fonctions comme les extensions AVX (avec FMA) et le support pour le cryptage AES.

La carte graphique intégrée compatible DirectX 11, la Radeon HD 7660G, possède en tout 384 shaders sur la puce Trinity, grâce au Turbo Core, le GPU peux passer de 497 à 686 MHz selon la demande des applications. En moyenne, les performances de la HD 7660G sont comparables à une carte graphique dédiée Radeon HD 6650M et donc remarquablement plus rapide qu’une HD Graphics 4000 que l’on trouve chez Intel, avec sa plate-forme Ivy Bridge.

La consomption énergétique du A10-4600M APU est notée à 35 Watts de TDP donc tout à fait comparable à des processeurs Dual Core Ivy bridge de milieu de gamme. Ce qui fait que le A10-4600M et tout à fait adapté à des ordinateurs portables de 14 pouces ou plus.
