Intel Celeron J4115

L'Intel Celeron J4115 est un SoC à quatre cœurs destiné principalement aux mini PC bon marché et a été annoncé fin 2019. Il tourne à 1,8-2,5 GHz (Single Core Burst) et est basé sur la plateforme Gemini Lake (rafraîchissement 2019). Par rapport à son prédécesseur, le refresh offre une horloge Boost légèrement plus élevée. Comme ses prédécesseurs Apollo Lake, la puce est fabriquée selon un processus de 14 nm avec des FinFET, mais offre des cœurs de processeur légèrement améliorés, une quantité de cache L2 doublée, un boîtier plus petit, une nouvelle génération de sorties moniteur (Gen 10) et une puce WiFi partiellement intégrée. Outre quatre cœurs de processeur, la puce comprend également un GPU compatible DirectX 12 ainsi qu'un contrôleur de mémoire DDR4/LPDDR4 (double canal, jusqu'à 2400 MHz). Le processeur n'est pas remplaçable car il est directement soudé à la carte mère.

Architecture

L'architecture du processeur est toujours appelée Goldmont Plus. Par rapport aux anciens cœurs Goldmont d'Apollo Lake, ils disposent d'un cache de niveau 2 plus important (jusqu'à 4 Mo). Cela signifie que la performance par horloge devrait être un peu meilleure, mais pas proche des CPU Core comme Kaby Lake Y.

Performances

Les performances du Celeron J4115 sont, dans nos tests, légèrement supérieures à celles de l'ancien N4100 grâce à une vitesse de base plus élevée, un TDP plus important et (généralement) un meilleur refroidissement dans les mini PC par rapport aux petits ordinateurs portables. La performance est positionnée dans le bas niveau d'entrée des processeurs de 2020. Néanmoins, pour les tâches de base telles que la bureautique, la navigation et le multitâche modéré, les performances du processeur devraient être satisfaisantes.

Performances du GPU

Le UHD Graphics 600 (Gemini Lake) est basé sur l'architecture Gen9 d'Intel, qui supporte DirectX 12 et est également utilisé pour les adaptateurs graphiques Kaby Lake / Skylake / Apollo Lake (comme le HD Graphics 520). Doté de 12 UE et d'une horloge pouvant atteindre 750 MHz, les performances devraient être à peu près équivalentes à celles de l'ancien HD Graphics 500 (Apollo Lake).

La puce comprend également un moteur vidéo avancé avec un support matériel pour la lecture de matériel VP9 et H.265 (profondeur de couleur de 8 bits).

Consommation d'énergie

Comme pour son prédécesseur, Intel indique un TDP de 10 watts (contre 6 watts pour le N4120 mobile, par exemple). La puce peut donc être refroidie passivement en théorie, mais des SKUs avec des ventilateurs sont également possibles.
