Qualcomm SD 660

Le Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 (SD660) est un SoC ARM du milieu de gamme rapide, que l'on retrouve largement sur des tablettes et smartphones Android. Annoncé à la mi 2017, le SD660 est le successeur du Snapdragon 625. Il possède 8 cœurs Kryo 260 (design custom, compatible 64 bits) divisés en deux clusters. Un cluster performant avec quatre cœurs qui monte à 2,2 GHz, et un cluster économe en énergie moins puissant qui monte à 1,8 GHz. Les deux clusters peuvent également être utilisés simultanément.

En plus des 8 cœurs physiques, le SOC intègre une puce graphique Adreno 512 du milieu de gamme, avec un contrôleur de mémoire LPDDR4 (double canal 1 866 MHz), et supporte le Wifi (802.11ac + MIMI, jusqu'à 867 Mbit/s.), le Bluetooth 5, et la LTE (modem LTE X12, jusqu'à 600 Mbit/s. en réception et 150 Mbit/s en envoi).

Performances

Dans les tests du Oppo R11, la partie processeur du Snapdragon SD660 arrive entre les anciens SoC haut de gammes comme le Snapdragon 821 du Pixel XL, et le Snapdragon 835. Les performances graphiques sont cependant bien moins élevées, l'Adreno 512 n'était qu'une légère amélioration de l'ancien Adreno 510 (grâce à sa fréquence plus élevée).

CPU

Le Snapdragon 660 est basé sur un concept proche du concept big.LITTLE d'ARM, qui combine un cluster à faible consommation (4 cœurs Kryo dont la fréquence monte à 1,8 GHz), et un cluster performant (4 cœurs Kryo qui montent à 2,2 GHz). La fréquence de chaque cluster peut être individuellement ajusté (mais pas par cœur), et la fréquence minimale est de 310 MHz (non vérifié).

Consommation

Grâce au nouveau procédé de fabrication 14 nm, l'efficience énergétique a fortement augmenté, par rapport aux prédécesseurs 20 nm.
