Intel i3-1005G1

L'Intel Core i3-1005G1 est un SoC double cœur efficient pour les portables et les ultrabooks, basé sur la génération Ice Lake U, annoncé en mai 2019 (Computex). Il intègre deux cœurs Sunnycove (4 threads grâce à l'HyperThreading) cadencés entre 1,2 (base) et 3,4 GHz (Turbo simple et double cœur). D'après Intel, les cœurs Sunnycove atteignent 18 % d'IPC (instructions par horloge) de plus que leurs prédécesseurs, si bien que les performances du processeur devraient être similaires à celles de prédécesseurs Whiskey Lake à la fréquence supérieure (par exemple à celles de l'i3-8145U cadencé entre 2,3 et 3,9 GHz), ou à celles du Core i7-7660U plus ancien (2,5 - 4 GHz double cœur).

Le plus gros progrès d'Ice Lake est la carte graphique intégrée de 11e génération, appelée UHD Graphics G1. Le Core i3-1005G1 en intègre la version la moins puissante, la UHD Graphics qui intègre 32 des 64 unités de calcul, et qui est cadencée entre 300 et 900 MHz. La version plus puissante possède une fréquence plus élevée (jusqu'à 1100 MHz) et intègre des Iris Plus G4 et G7.

Ice Lake s'améliore également en ce qui concerne l'accélération matérielle d'IA, et l'intégration partielle du thunderbolt et du Wifi 6 dans la puce. Le contrôleur mémoire DDR4 intégré prend en charge les modules jusqu'à 3200 MHz (LPDDR4 3733).

Le Core i3-1005G1 est produit grâce au nouveau procédé en 10 nm par Intel, qui devrait proposer un niveau de performances comparable au procédé 7 nm de TSMC. L'enveloppe thermique (TDP) indiquée est de 15 W, si bien que ce processeur peut être utilisé dans les portables fins et légers (mais généralement avec un ventilateur). Intel propose une enveloppe thermique configurable entre 13 et 25 W pour ses partenaires, entraînant des différences de performances d'une version à l'autre. Avec 13 W, le CPU n'est capable de tourner qu'à 900 MHz d'après ark.intel.com.
