Intel i9-10980HK

L'Intel Core i9-10980HK est un processeur haut de gamme pour ordinateurs portables à huit cœurs basé sur l'architecture Comet Lake (CML-H, 4e génération de Skylake). Le processeur tourne entre 2,4 et 5,3 GHz (les 8 cœurs jusqu'à 4,4 GHz) et peut exécuter jusqu'à seize threads simultanément grâce à Hyper-Threading. Les 5,3 GHz ne peuvent être atteints qu'en dessous de 65°C de température du cœur (Thermal Velocity Boost), entre 65 et 85°C, 5,2 GHz sont le maximum et au-dessus de cela 5,1 avec des restrictions (Turbo Boost 3.0).

Le processeur est toujours fabriqué selon l'ancien procédé 14nm (14nm++). Par rapport à son prédécesseur, le Core i9-9980HK, le 10980HK n'offre probablement qu'une augmentation des fréquences d'horloge de base (et peut-être des fréquences d'horloge turbo multi-cœurs). Grâce au multiplicateur libre, le processeur peut également être facilement overclocké (mais il n'aura peut-être pas beaucoup de marge de manœuvre).

L'architecture Comet Lake est similaire à Coffee Lake et offre les mêmes caractéristiques et est produite dans le même processus 14nm. Outre l'amélioration des fréquences d'horloge, le contrôleur de mémoire prend désormais en charge la mémoire vive DDR4-2933 plus rapide. Le Core i7-10750H ne prend pas en charge vPro, TXT ou SIPP. Ces fonctions professionnelles sont disponibles dans le Core i9-10885H (2,4 - 5,3 GHz) similaire (et publié ultérieurement).

Performances

Les performances du Core i9-10980HK devraient être supérieures à celles de l'ancien Core i9-9980HK (2,4 - 5 GHz) grâce à l'augmentation des vitesses d'horloge turbo. Grâce aux 8 cœurs et aux vitesses turbo élevées, même les applications exigeantes devraient très bien fonctionner sur le CPU. Cependant, les performances à long terme dépendent toujours du système de refroidissement de l'ordinateur portable et de la configuration du système. Au moment de l'annonce, le i9-10980HK est le processeur Comet Lake-H et le processeur pour ordinateur portable le plus rapide du marché. 

Graphisme

L'iGPU intégré Intel UHD Graphics 630 est censé offrir des performances similaires à celles de l'UHD630 du Core i7-9980HK. En tant que solution bas de gamme, il ne fera tourner les jeux actuels de manière fluide qu'à des détails réduits - voire pas du tout.

Consommation d'énergie

Intel spécifie le TDP avec 45 watts et donc le i9 est seulement adapté aux gros ordinateurs portables avec de bonnes solutions de refroidissement. En utilisant cTDP-down, le CPU peut également être configuré à 35 watts, ce qui réduit les performances.
