Apple M1 Pro

L'Apple M1 Pro est un système sur puce (SoC) d'Apple que l'on retrouve dans les modèles MacBook Pro 14 et 16 pouces de la fin 2021. Il offre les 10 cœurs disponibles dans la puce, répartis en huit cœurs de performance (P-cores avec 600 - 3220 MHz) et deux cœurs d'efficacité énergétique (E-cores avec 600 - 2064 MHz). Il n'y a pas de Turbo Boost pour les cœurs uniques ou les courtes périodes de rafale. Les cœurs sont similaires à ceux de l'Apple M1. Le modèle d'entrée de gamme n'offre que 8 cœurs.

Les gros cœurs (nom de code Firestorm) offrent 192 Ko de cache d'instructions, 128 Ko de cache de données et 24 Mo de cache L2 partagé (contre 12 Mo dans le M1). Les quatre cœurs d'efficacité (nom de code Icestorm) sont beaucoup plus petits et offrent seulement 128 Ko de cache d'instruction, 64 Ko de cache de données et 4 Mo de cache partagé. Le CPU et le GPU peuvent tous deux utiliser le SLC (System Level Cache) de 24 Mo. Les cœurs d'efficacité (cluster E) tournent entre 600 et 2064 MHz, les cœurs de performance (cluster P) entre 600 et 3228 MHz.

La mémoire unifiée (16 ou 32 Go LPDDR5-6400) située à côté de la puce est reliée par un contrôleur de mémoire 256 bits (bande passante de 200 Go/s) et peut être utilisée par le GPU et le CPU.

La carte graphique intégrée du M1 Pro offre les 16 cœurs.

En outre, le SoC intègre un moteur neuronal rapide à 16 cœurs, une enclave sécurisée (par exemple, pour le cryptage), une architecture de mémoire unifiée, un contrôleur Thunderbolt 4, un ISP et des dé- et encodeurs de médias (y compris ProRes).

Le M1 Pro est fabriqué en 5 nm chez TSMC et intègre 33,7 milliards de transistors. La consommation de pointe de la puce était annoncée autour de 30W pour les tâches intensives du CPU. Dans le benchmark Prime95, la puce utilise dans nos tests (avec un MBP16) 33.6W pour le package et 31W pour la partie CPU. En mode veille, le SoC n'utilise que 1W.
