Intel i5-8400

L'Intel Core i5-8400 est un processeur de milieu de gamme à 6 cœurs. Ce processeur appartient à la génération Coffee Lake et a été présenté en septembre 2017. Il ne prend pas en charge Hyper-Threading, ce qui signifie qu'il peut exécuter six threads simultanément. La fréquence d'horloge de base est de 2,8 GHz et le processeur peut accélérer jusqu'à 4,0 GHz sous une charge élevée. Bien qu'il appartienne à la nouvelle génération de CPU, le Core i5-8400 est fabriqué selon un processus amélioré de 14 nm.

Performances

Le processeur offre une forte augmentation des performances par rapport au Core i5-7400 grâce à ses deux cœurs supplémentaires. Les performances à un seul cœur n'ont pas été améliorées de manière significative par rapport à son prédécesseur Kaby Lake. En tant que modèle de milieu de gamme, le Core i5-8400 devrait convenir aux jeux et programmes exigeants.

Graphisme

L'iGPU intégré Intel UHD Graphics 630 est censé offrir des performances plus élevées car sa fréquence d'horloge a été augmentée de 50 MHz. La construction est identique à celle de l'Intel HD Graphics 630. Nous nous attendons à une amélioration des performances, mais comme il s'agit d'une solution bas de gamme, elle n'affichera probablement que les jeux actuels de manière fluide, avec des détails réduits, voire pas du tout.

Consommation d'énergie

Intel spécifie un TDP de 65 watts. Par conséquent, les systèmes de refroidissement bien dimensionnés devraient facilement réussir à gérer la chaleur créée. Nous nous attendons à une efficacité accrue en raison des performances plus élevées.
