Intel Core i9-9900KS
L'Intel Core i9-9900KS est un processeur de bureau haut de gamme avec 8 cœurs, basé sur l'architecture Coffee Lake. C'est le processeur Coffee Lake le plus puissant de 2019, et possède un Turbo de tous ses cœurs de 5 GHz, contrairement à l'i9-9900K au nom similaire. Tous les cœurs peuvent être candencés entre 4 et 5 GHz, et grâce à l'HyperThreading / SMT, 16 threads peuvent être exécutés en parallèle. Le processeur est toujours gravé grâce au procédé 14 nm maintenant mature (14 nm++). Grâce au multiplicateur ouvert, le processeur est plutôt facile à overclocker (si une carte-mère basée sur la Z390 est utilisée).
Avec un bon refroidissement, l'i9-9900KS peut être d'environ 10 % plus rapide que l"Intel Core i9-9900K plus ancien (grâce au Turbo de 5 GHz sur tous les cœurs). Et il est même de 45 % plus rapide que l'ancien Core i7-8700K. Le 9900KS était à son lancement le processeur le plus puissant, surtout pour le jeu. Les processeurs Ryzen rapides et Threadripper d'AMD possédaient cependant de meilleures performances multithread.
Le GPU intégré est l'Intel UHD Graphics 630, qui monte à 1,2 GHz. Il n'est pas adapté aux jeux 3D exigeants, se situant dans le bas de gamme.
L'enveloppe thermique monte à 127 W pour des performances en hause, si bien qu'un système de refroidissement efficace est nécessaire. Avec overclocking, plus de 200 W peuvent être atteints avec de grosses sollicitations.
