L'Intel Core i5-9400F est un processeur de bureau à six cœurs basé sur l'architecture Coffee Lake présenté en octobre 2018 en même temps que le fleuron Intel Core i9-9900K. Le processeur tourne à une fréquence de 2,9 à 4,1 GHz et peut traiter jusqu'à 6 threads simultanément. L'Intel Core i5-9400F est fabriqué selon le processus amélioré de 14 nm (14nm++).

Performances

Par rapport à l'Intel Core i5-8400, les performances n'ont pu être que légèrement augmentées. On peut s'attendre à une augmentation des performances allant jusqu'à 10 %. Les deux processeurs (anciens et nouveaux) ne proposent toujours pas l'hyperthreading. L'augmentation des performances se résume donc à de petites améliorations de l'architecture et à une fréquence d'horloge de base et turbo légèrement plus élevée. Ce processeur convient à une utilisation quotidienne en bureautique, qui ne nécessite pas de gros refroidisseurs en raison de la faible chaleur résiduelle. Mais les jeux font également partie des domaines d'application, car dans les jeux, l'Intel Core i5-9400F bat clairement l'Intel Core i3-9100F. Ici, les six cœurs portent leurs fruits.

L'Intel Core i5-9400F est un processeur sans unité graphique intégrée. Si vous tenez à une unité graphique intégrée, vous devriez regarder de plus près l'Intel Core i5-9400, car il offre l'entrée de gamme Intel UHD Graphics 630.

Consommation électrique

Intel situe la puissance de conception thermique (TDP) à 65 watts. Cela signifie qu'il n'y a pas besoin de gros systèmes de refroidissement, ce qui permet également une installation dans des boîtiers très compacts.
