La Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 est une carte graphique de bureau haut de gamme basée sur la puce AD104 utilisant l'architecture Ada Lovelace. Le 4070 propose 5 888 cœurs et 12 Go de mémoire graphique GDDR6X avec un bus mémoire de 192 bits et cadencé à 21 Gbits. La carte offre de bonnes performances de raytracing grâce aux 46 cœurs de raytracing dédiés. Pour les calculs d'IA (et DLSS 3 dans les jeux), le RTX 4070 dispose de 184 cœurs Tensor.
Les performances de jeu sont bien adaptées aux jeux 2k/QHD dans les jeux les plus exigeants, et devraient être capables de gérer les jeux 4k pour les jeux moins exigeants (ou avec des paramètres réduits/DLSS activé). Les performances de jeu brutes sont comparables à celles d'un ancien RTX 3080 ou d'une AMD Radeon 6800 XT. Comparée au GPU mobile GeForce RTX 4070 pour ordinateur portable du même nom, la variante de bureau est beaucoup plus rapide.
La puce AD104 est fabriquée selon le processus moderne de 5 nm chez TSMC (4N avec EUV) et spécifiée avec une TGP (puissance graphique totale) de 200 watts (par rapport aux 450 watts du RTX 4090).
